  1. What I meant was that BOSS will sort in a fixed order every time. For example, in this order: Mod A, D, K, M, B. Every time you sort it will sort in this order. LOOT on the other hand throws around mods and sorts differently every time. First time you sort you might get this order: A, D, K, M, B, the next time you sort you might get this order: D, A, M, K, B, the third time you sort might get this order: A, D, M, K, B and so on. Is this really safe?
  2. Unlike BOSS which has a fixed Load Order, LOOT seems to sort differently every time. Is it really safe to change Load Order in the middle of a game?
  3. It would be nice if you could exclude translation mods from search results. Right now there are so many translation mods than you can't find anything else.
  4. Warning: "BSA redirection" in Wrye Bash doesn't work properly in New Vegas. If you use BSA redirection only some of your loose textures will be loaded by the game, not all. Maybe 75% or something like that will be loaded. The rest is ignored. In order to load 100% of your loose textures you need to use "Archive Invalidation" in FOMM. To do that you need to start FOMM, disable Archive Invalidation and then enable it again. You need to repeat this every time you have installed new loose texture files. Furthermore you need to permanently disable BSA redirection in Wrye Bash because otherwise it will override Archive Invalidation in FOMM and ruin it.
  5. Are mods that has been created for New Vegas generally compatible with TTW? If not, what is the reason they are incompatible?
  6. There are some weapon modifications in the game that add a scope to the weapon. For example the 9mm pistol scope, the Hunting rifle scope and the Plasma Def. scope. If I modify my companion's weapon by adding a scope to it, will he have any use of it? In other words, do companions use scope and is it useful for them?
  7. When I shoot with a machine gun, or any weapon in the game, I need to do 1 click on the attack button for every shot. Aren't you supposed to be able to shoot continuously by holding down the attack button? Is it just for me holding down the button doesn't work or is it for everyone? How do I fix this? A setting that needs to be changed? A mod that needs to be downloaded? update: After some further testing I noticed it was possible to hold down the attack button for some weapons. But there are also some weapons with very fast attack rate where you can't hold it down, any way to fix these weapons?
  8. Should I uninstall the old version of Wrye Bash first before I install the latest version?
  9. Why are you forced to read 8 walls of text just to upload a file on nexus? And why are you forced to upload an image?
  10. 1) sort with boss 2) build the bashed patch 3) if you have time to improve things, go to step 4), otherwise play the game as it is 4) open the bashed patch in tes4edit. Do you like the result? If not, rebuild it again with different bash tags until you get it right. Bash tags sometime act a bit unpredictable and to get it right might require some trial and error. Changing the load order can help as well but I always try to avoid that. Some conflicts though are best fixed manually by editing the bashed patch directly with tes4edit and fixing it there. Of course you will lose the fix the next time you rebuild the patched patch and that's why I recommend having another esp loaded after the bashed patch which you copy all your fixes to so that they are saved there and loaded each time you play. Over time this esp might grow very big with 20 masters or so since it has fixed so many conflicts from various mods. In most cases this solution is much faster than tweaking with bash tags. Only if you have like 30 errors of the same type it's faster to fix them with a bash tag since you can fix them all by once by adding one single bash tag.
  11. The best thing about it is that it rebalances some formulas in the game that are badly designed. Yes, I recommend it even to people who don't want to uncap their skills and attributes.
  12. I don't know which mod I have that fixes it (probably EngineBugFixes or Oblivion Reloaded) but I have none of those problems. The "Load last save" screen doesn't pop up at all no matter how long I wait and there is no problem with the camera. Everything seems to work fine after resurrecting the player but you never know if something broke in the background, maybe some quest or something will fail. I also tried to make the player essential and that also worked very well. He acted just like any other essential NPC and got back to life after a while after dying. There are a lot of prevent death mods out there that tries to prevent death by interrupting the game just before the player dies, I wonder why they don't just resurrect the player instead or make him essential.
  13. I died and haven't saved for hours. Is it safe to use the resurrect command on the player in the console? Maybe the game will think the player is still dead which can ruin quests and such things? And what is best to use between "resurrect" and "resurrect 1"?
  14. After hours and hours I managed to find it. View menu --> Object Window --> Miscellaneous --> CombatStyle It doesn't make sense that it's located there when such things as Faction and Hair isn't.
  15. I've been searching for ages, looking through every menu and every button in CS but I can't find it. How do I edit, create new and delete Combat Styles in CS?
  16. Another strategy is to deactivate your mods one by one. If it suddenly starts working you know which one it is that causes it.
  17. Does it crash on a new game? If not, maybe something is corrupted in your save file. Do you often quick save when you save? I've heard that it can corrupt the save. I've also heard that if you overwrite an old save when you save it can corrupt the new save. I did the latter myself for a long time though without noticing any issues with it.
  18. You have so few mods that the only cause I can think of is Oblivion Reloaded which is a mod that is known to crash. Try to disable ShadowMode in OblivionReloaded. If that doesn't work, try to enable EquipmentMode.
  19. ESPs don't change their timestamps by themselves and I always run BOSS after I edit an ESP so I don't have much use of locking my load order. But sure, now when I think about it, it's probably more time effective to have the load order locked than to run boss every time during periods where I'm more likely to edit a mod than to install a new one.
  20. So cleaning a couple of mods can give him 25 FPS? Please explain more so that we others learn.
  21. Wrong installation order and unclean mods are most probably not the reason. Wrong installation order usually just means that some textures you want from some mod have been overwritten by other textures you don't want from another mod and that isn't a serious issue. You can look up if such conflicts exists in Wrye Bash's Installers tab by selecting a mod and then clicking on the Conflicts tab to the right. Cleaning mods isn't that important either. It's quite rare that an unclean mod will cause any issue. I still recommend to clean your mods though if you have the time to learn how to do it. I don't know about the other games but in Oblivion cleaning will rarely mess things up. In general you should always clean unless BOSS/LOOT or the mod author tells you not to. But to fix your current issues I suggest you do what Striker879 said, install one mod at a time until you know which one it is that causes the issues. You don't have to start a new game for every mod you install. You can install one, play, install one more, continue to play and so on.
  22. You said boss unchecked things. Since boss doesn't uncheck things I misread your post and thought that the bashed patch rebuild process had unchecked some of your esps which it sometimes does. A bashed patch isn't required. Some people skip it. But if you want to solve as many mod conflicts as possible it's recommended to use one. Follow my instructions how to create one if you want to use one. Your problem seems to be a more basic one. It seems like you don't know that you have to activate esps in order for the game to load them. To activate an esp in Wrye Bash, just select it and press space. Do this for all esps that you want to use. If you don't do this the esp will not be loaded in your game! (if you use a bashed patch you don't need to activate those esps with a "+" symbol since those have already been merged into the bashed patch).
  23. When you rebuild the bashed patch every esp with green text will be deactivated since those are fully merged into the bashed patch and thus don't need to be activated anymore. After the bashed patch has been built they will be marked with a "+" symbol to inform you that they have been merged into the bashed patch and that they don't need to be activated. You will only see the "+" symbol if "Bashed Patch, 0.esp" is activated and if they have been successfully merged into it. In your case something is obviously wrong since there are a lot of esps with black text that hasn't been activated. If you don't activate those esps they won't be loaded when you start the game. I recommend to follow this procedure every time you need to rebuild the bashed patch: 1. Run BOSS to sort your load order if you haven't already. 2. Deactivate "Bashed Patch, 0.esp". 3. Activate every esp with black text (except "Bashed Patch, 0.esp"). Regarding esps with green text it doesn't matter if you activate them or not. If you activate them they will be automatically deactivated when you rebuild the bashed patch. If you don't activate them they will stay deactivated. In either case they will be fully merged into the bashed patch when you rebuild it. 4. Rebuild the bashed patch. To do so you right click on "Bashed Patch, 0.esp" and select "Rebuild Patch..." and then follow the instructions (just click Ok on everything). Make sure that "Bashed Patch, 0.esp" is deactivated [see step 2] before you rebuild it. Before playing the game make sure that every esp with black text, including "Bashed Patch, 0.esp", is activated. Every esp with green text should now have a "+" symbol.
  24. You can still run BOSS from Wrye Bash but yeah it looks like it can't override the Lock Load Order settings. I don't see the reason with locking my load order anyway so no problem for me.
