see ive been reading the exact opposite on the new AMD drivers. ive heard the latest drivers really helped the 7xxx cards.

considering this monitor too haha. a little worried because of how cheap it is compared to other 120Hz monitors, however im only considering it because its so cheap. and id only get it if i found i could afford it. not planning on it, but if i have the money we will see.

ive also told myself, if i feel like im cutting it too close on BF/CM then i would just wait till christmas. get another month of checks in and still have the opportunity for discounts and deals.

Ya know something to consider is that Z88 and LGA 1150 come out next year along with Haswell in June (supposedly). So I would wait if I were you.

As for the drivers, I can no longer comment as the last drivers I had from AMD were 12.6 and they were awful.

Oh and Thor I don't know about you, but I am using a card with a reference cooler. So of course its going to be warmer.

something is always going to be coming out every few months. not worth waiting for an extra 5% or whatever it happens to be.

Haswell seems to be promising another flop. Intel is still using its inferior Trigate 22nm process (on par with its 32nm and inferior to conventional 28nm), and architectural improvements are minor and in AVX, which isn't what matters most.

They know how to make a faster CPU. I'm not a silicon engineer, but even I know. However there's no serious x86 competition, so they don't care to. Intel is being pommeled in onboard graphics, so that's where all the effort, finer tech nodes and extra transistors go.

so ive been looking more into monitors. because i dont play FPSs on my computer (i just plain suck with a mouse and keyboard when it comes to that) i see no real need for a 120hz monitor. instead though, ive been looking at IPS monitors. so my question on this is, im debating between to monitors

Dell U2312HM

Dell U2412M

the first one is cheaper, which is nice. the real questions i have though is do things get stretched when you have a 16:10 monitor at 1200p? if thats the case then i dont see a reason to get the first monitor.

i mainly play RTSs and RPGs such as but not limited to:

Dragon Age

Fall Out

Guild Wars 2

Starcraft 2

Command and Conquer

Torchlight

League of Legends.

none of these games are hard on the hardware or anything. none are ground breaking in graphics which is why im considering the 16:9 1080p monitor. that said, who knows what ill get in to in the future. where a 1200p monitor might be better suited. as said im just worried that those games will get stretched and look bad or if ill be playing with a blach box around the game (which would defeat the purpose of getting the bigger monitor)

anyone who has had experience with a 16:10 monitor and/or a 1200p monitor and/or either of these two monitors in particular, it would be great to hear from you!

Hmmm did you notice that Dell 300$ one doesn't have hdmi, funny though i would still get it though even though its not hdmi. the price for a 16.10 monitor can't be beat http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif Edited by Thor.
