Leark222
Hey guys So I have never really messed with creating mods or even messing with the vanilla game, I've rarely even used console commands in games. I have always loved the idea of using full bound gear as a conjurer, but the idea of either going Blunt or using a dagger/ two-handed sword seemed pretty dumb. As an alternative I would like to create a Bound long-sword spell. I think I remember having a go a few years ago but never got anywhere with it I was wandering if anyone could give me a basic rundown of how to:1. create a bound weapon spell that would give a properly scaled bound Daedric long-sword to the caster,2. allow this weapon to scale with Supreme Magicka (or any other similar mod if there's a replacement. I have only used SM for the last few part playthroughs). This is more a request for help in doing it myself, so any help would be greatly appreciated as a pre warning I don't usually post to many forums, let me know if I've done anything wrong. I also searched and could not find anything on this surprisingly simple idea. but if you can find anything a link would be greatly appreciated. ThanksLeark
ReverendFelix
What ever you do, don't change anything vanilla! Make a new form. Just double click on what you want to change, change it, press ok, and answer yes when it ask if you want to make a new form. For making it scale you would need different versions of the same thing. And scripting that I can't do... :/
Leark222
Right let's start there! What's a form? And as for scaling I just mean to be in line with other bound weapons with regards to their non bound counterparts. I think the major thing would be the scaling fire damage enchant based on conjuration to go with point 2. But seeing as that already exists in SM I'm sure there's a way to do it if I can figure out how to look at that Thanks for the reply :D Edited August 5, 2019 by Leark222
ReverendFelix
A form id is everything in the game. That is to say every thing in the game has a editor id (edid) . Example; First thing on the list is "AnvilMGPetImp".That is the edid. Names are almost always different than the edid. It's name is Sparky. The entire thing is the form. Think I got that right... The best tool for esp investigating is tes4edit. If you want to be a modder, you're gonna need to be familiar with it. It is really, really powerful. Hope it helps. Leark222
Okay so after a little look around in the construction set I have managed to create a sword called Bound Longsword and set the stats to be in line with the other bound weapons. Looked scary but was pretty easy. I have tried to add a spell called BoundLongswordJourneyman to be inline with the other one handed bound equipment. The problem now is the effect, which I assume, may have to be done with scripting. I will assume that if I can find where the effects are that I could copy and change the one for the bound mace, for example and just change the item to be the newly created bound sword. so far i cant find the effects in the object window, so I'm assuming they're not there. Any idea where I might find them? Thanks again for all the help
ReverendFelix
That's the spirit! Magic effects are found under the gameplay tab. Are you trying to add an effect to the spell, or the weapon?
Leark222
I'm dumb... how did I miss that?Trying to create the effect for the spell, and have that effect give the player the longsword I created.I shall give it a go and let you know how i progress :D Edit: There is literally an icon already in the construction set for it. that's lucky I guess lol also using BoundWeaponExtra10 as the base for the spell, wasn't sure how to add a new one Edited August 5, 2019 by Leark222
ReverendFelix
To make a new form I quote myself from above... "Make a new form. Just double click on what you want to change, change it, press ok, and answer yes when it ask if you want to make a new form." Just make sure to give it a new edid and it's no big deal. Leark222
Okay so I managed to get it straight away... then I realised that I had forgot to rename the bound sword from daedric, the ID was fine and it could have worked. In trying to change the name I had to redo the whole thing about 7 or 8 times because I wasn't sure how to save it... holy hell was that a nightmare But now I have the spell working. The next step is to try and get it working off the scaling enchantment in SM. This seems to just be an case of tagging the item as with the right tag and it should get the damage, but if it is much more complicated than that I may not bother as I really have no idea how I might get it running thanks again for the assistance Tried posting a screenshot but couldn't seem to get it lol Edit: Okay so it's just added as a normal enchantment, but in the mod it scales with the conjuration skill. I have no idea how to get the mods to work together I'll try finding that out tomorrow. Edited August 5, 2019 by Leark222
Striker879
Form ID is actually a column that is collapsed by default in the CS. At the top of the columns look for two column divider lines right next to one another. Click/hold and drag the rightmost of those two lines to open the Form ID column.
