Krutz
Is there a way I can use the 4gb Loader (http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35262) with Radeon Pro application? Setting up a Radeon Pro profile with "FalloutNV.exe" or "fnv4gb.exe" does not work. When running New Vegas with the 4gb Loader, my task manager displays two processes related to New Vegas, one is "fnv4gb.exe" and the other is "FalloutNV.4gb". The "FalloutNV.4gb" is the one that is actually using the most resources, while "fnv4gb.exe" isn't using much at all. So I thought that I would just setup a Radeon Pro profile using "FalloutNV.4gb", except it's extension is not .exe but .4gb which Radeon Pro doesn't recognize. SpitBlock
If you didn't figure it out then you wont. You don't even need 4Gb for FNV in the first place. It doesn't suffer from memory leak crashes on win7. It won't use more than 800Mb 1.25Gb maybe a little more an will unload anything not needed. The engine is designed to do that. Which all this is further enhance by Steam. So pick one, either use the profile or use the 4Gb, but know that 4Gb won't even kick in until you run about 2000 to 3000 feet in the Mojave desert, like running from Nipton to Vegas which if you continued would unload anyway as you move into Vegas an the same is true for DLC or something like the lucky 38 casino. But I ask how do I know you'll keep using 4Gb? Simple because gamers are silly like that. Best of luck.
JimboUK
Have you tried asking in the mods comments? someone who knows is more likely to see your problem there. Memory use depends greatly on settings, resolution, texture packs and how much stuff you've got going on. The memory use can spike during loading as well, this protects against that. There are also massive textures available that need it, try running NMCs large textures without it and see what happens. http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s417/Jim_Watford/0005.jpg

It seems that I get better frames per second with Radeon Pro, but more random stutters as I explore and as the land loads. Your argument is more for the vanilla version and not so much a modded version with high res texture packs on everything and monster spawn increaser. Can you explain how Steam enhances a game? Its just a interface DRM, browser and a overlay. Sure it doesn't use GFWL, but Steam doesn't enhance games.
