Lynxy45
Hi guys, ive tried nearly every single fix I could find after (literally) about 4 and a half hours of google searching and still I cannot stop fallout 3 from randomly crashing when I try to enter Marigold Station (it also randomly crashes when I try and enter some other interior cells, but ALWAYS when I try and enter Marigold Station). Im running the Game of the Year Edition on windows 7 64 bit, ive tried the quad core fix, having fo3 outside of my program files, the compatibility mode (windows xp AND vista service packs 3 and 2 respectively, nothing works) fix, uninstalling and re installing the game, uninstalling and updating drivers and sound drivers, using the affinity core limiting method, using the GFWL disabler, using GFWL, running d3d9 direct x.dll, the Unofficial Patches and unofficial fix mods, disabling my antivirus, the Latest Patch (1.7), and a myriad of other fixes. The one consistent thing I can say about this is that according to Event Viewer, I am always getting the (Event Code 1000) "Faulting Application Name, Fallout3.exe" etc etc. I know for a fact that my system specs are waaaay above what the game requires, as is my video card memory, and my processor's speed, so this is NOT an issue of my PC being unable to support fallout 3 (I can easily run fallout new vegas on max settings with 1920X1080 resolution no problem). I really, truly, need someone to help explain to me what the hell the Faulting Application Name error actually is, and how I can fix it. If it helps in any way, I am running a whole bunch of mods using Fallout Mod Manager, the Load Order of which is below ("The Pure Course" is my fo3 edit merged patch, YES I have tried this fo3edit fix and masterupdate fix also): [X] Fallout3.esm[X] Anchorage.esm[X] ThePitt.esm[X] BrokenSteel.esm[X] PointLookout.esm[X] Zeta.esm[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm[X] Advanced Recon Tech.esm[X] Destruction.esm[X] EVE.esm[X] Apocalypse Armory.esm[X] Mart's Mutant Mod.esm[X] Detect Traps.esm[X] Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow.esm[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.esp[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.esp[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp[X] DarkNights-maza_edition.esp[X] Fellout-pipboylight.esp[X] Destruction - Main.esp[X] Destruction - Main - Statics.esp[X] Destruction - DLC.esp[X] EVE.esp[X] EVE Operation Anchorage.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - Natural Selection.esp[X] Mart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp[X] Apocalypse Armory - Optional Historical Names.esp[X] Apocalypse Armory - DLC Enhancements.esp[X] Apocalypse Armory + EVE.esp[X] COL Enclave VER2.esp[X] mazas_campfire.esp[X] Rivet City Merchants With Point Lookout.esp[X] Detect Traps - The Traponator 4000.esp[X] Detect Traps - Perk.esp[X] Advanced Recon Armor.esp[X] Advanced Recon Range Finder.esp[X] Advanced Recon Armor-Easier Stealth.esp[X] Advanced Recon Armor-Stealth With Drawn Weapon.esp[X] Advanced Recon Armor-Predator Mode.esp[X] Detect Traps - DLC.esp[X] Fallout 3 Master Fix - Higher FPS.esp[X] Rivet City Crash Fix.esp[X] Advanced Recon Gear.esp[X] Advanced Recon Tech.esp[X] Advanced Recon Tech - Detect Traps.esp[X] Engineering Core Cleaning -Mothership Zeta-.esp[X] Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow in Fallout.esp[X] Enhanced Weather - Weather Sounds in Interiors.esp[X] Enhanced Weather - Sneak Bonus during Storms.esp[X] Fellout-Full.esp[X] Fellout-Anchorage.esp[X] Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp[X] Fellout-PointLookout.esp[X] Fellout-Zeta.esp[X] Destruction - CP - Fellout.esp[X] Apocalypse Armory.esp[X] Enhanced Weather - REBOOT.esp[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Mothership Zeta.esp[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Point Lookout.esp[X] Error Fixes V1.5.esp[X] Error Fixes V1.5 - FastTravelIndoors.esp[X] Error Fixes V1.5 - Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esp[X] Error Fixes V1.5 - Fellout.esp[X] James Invisible wall bugs remove V3.esp[X] The Pure Course.esp And here is the full text of the error which I get from event viewer: Faulting application name: Fallout3.exe, version: 1.7.0.3, time stamp: 0x4a40f18bFaulting module name: Fallout3.exe, version: 1.7.0.3, time stamp: 0x4a40f18bException code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x00119241Faulting process id: 0x1120Faulting application start time: 0x01cd98141e8b4598Faulting application path: C:\Fallout 3\Fallout3.exeFaulting module path: C:\Fallout 3\Fallout3.exeReport Id: 73f7ef68-0407-11e2-8c22-b870f460178e Please, Please, Pleaaaase if ANYONE can help me find a way to fix this issue, I will be eternally grateful. Lynxy45
Thanks, will try to defrag my registry etc and see if that helps.
Lynxy45
I can hereby confirm that cleaning the registry etc does not work for fixing fallout 3, and I have tried two separate programs to do so. I have also checked for a virus or Malware, of which none has been detected. Again when using two separate programs in case one was infected. If anyone has any other ways of fixing this error for fallout 3, I would massively appreciate it, and again I would also be eternally grateful. I can also confirm that nothing is wrong with my RAM or Memory, as other games etc ALWAYS work, and no major problems were detected from the two registry/memory cleaner programs used. As a last ditch method in case it IS the case that my hard drive somehow has a memory corruption in the area which fallout 3 uses, I will move my entire fallout 3 folder and saves to the second hard drive on my computer, which is currently unused. UPDATE: As of now, with fallout on the second hard drive, it crashes upon startup. These problems just keep getting worse and worse.... Moving it back still compounds the problem Edited September 22, 2012 by Lynxy45
