mrfingertips
Hello, I am trying to play Fallout 3 (with mods) using GoG. I switched from Steam because I was told that GoG is much more stable, but this seems not to be the case. I get constant crashing, even with graphics on low the game will run for a few minutes and then freeze up. It's ridiculous that they still charge for a game that no longer works. I am using mods and have installed them via the NMM, I have the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch installed as well as the 4gb patch installed too. These are the mods (plus DLC) arranged in this order: 0 0 Fallout3.esm 1 1 Anchorage.esm 2 2 ThePitt.esm 3 3 StreetLights.esm 4 4 BrokenSteel.esm 5 5 PointLookout.esm 6 6 Zeta.esm 7 7 Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm 8 8 RH_IRONSIGHTS.esm 9 9 DCInteriors_ComboEdition.esm 10 a Mart's Mutant Mod.esm 11 b Project Beauty.esm 12 c Alton, IL.esm 13 d RH_IronSights_Basic_AnchoragePlugin.esp 14 e RH_IronSights_Pitt_NewRifleSights.esp 15 f RH_IronSights_RemoveReticule.esp 16 10 BlackWolf Backpack.esp 17 11 BlackWolf Backpack - Blank's Container Patch.esp 18 12 BlackWolf Backpack - Vendor Script Replenish.esp 19 13 Mart's Mutant Mod.esp 20 14 EssentialFollowers+Caravans.esp 21 15 BetterGamePerformance.esp 22 16 Fellout-Full.esp 23 17 Fellout-Anchorage.esp 24 18 Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp 25 19 Fellout-pipboylight.esp 26 1a Fellout-Zeta.esp 27 1b Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.esp 28 1c Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.esp 29 1d Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.esp 30 1e Mart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.esp 31 1f Mart's Mutant Mod - Natural Selection.esp 32 20 Mart's Mutant Mod - Tougher Traders.esp 33 21 Mart's Mutant Mod - Zones Respawn.esp 34 22 Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.esp 35 23 Project Beauty- Broken Steel.esp 36 24 Realistic Interior Lighting - OA.esp 37 25 AltonAddon.esp 38 26 BusworldV1.05d.esp 39 27 Realistic Interior Lighting.esp 40 28 WeaponModKits.esp 41 29 Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.esp 42 2a RH_IronSights_Basic_ZetaPlugin.esp 43 2b Busworld and DCInteriors compatibility.esp 44 2c RH_IronSights_Basic_VanillaPlugin.esp 45 2d RH_IronSights_Basic_PointLookoutPlugin.esp 46 2e RH_IronSights_Basic_PittPlugin.esp 47 2f RH_IronSights_Basic_BrokenSteelPlugin.esp 48 30 Fellout-PointLookout.esp 49 31 Realistic Interior Lighting - PL.esp 50 32 RH_IronSights_PL_NewItems.esp 51 33 Project Beauty- Point Lookout.esp 52 34 Realistic Interior Lighting - BS.esp 53 35 WeaponModKits - BrokenSteel.esp 54 36 WeaponModKits - Zeta.esp 55 37 WeaponModKits - OperationAnchorage.esp 56 38 WeaponModKits - ThePitt.esp 57 39 WeaponModKits - PointLookout.esp 58 3a FO3_WRP.esp It was arranged using Loot, but I have no idea what mods would be causing problems. I really want to play this game, but it is impossible due to the crashing, I am unsure if it is memory or one (or more) of the mods. Any help would be appreciated. M48A5
"It was arranged using Loot" There's your problem. LOOT has never sorted FO3 mods correctly. Mods with multiple plugins should be arranged in the same order as the DLCs. If the game is installed in "Program Files" you will have problems and should be moved. Also, if you are using Windows 10, you will have additional work to do. Please see "How to ask for help" and provide all the information noted there. https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/How_to_ask_for_help

That link you sent burns out my brain just by looking at it. Is there a way I can arrange the load order of these mods myself? Where should I move it too? I am also inept at these things, if you tell me something, then there's a 95% chance I will not know what you are talking about. I do not know why it should not be in Program Folders, I do not know what order mods should be arranged and why. wfandrews
I am also running the GOG version of FO3 with Win10 and had great deal of trouble running it initially. When I uninstalled the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch my problems went away. Of course there is no guarantee that this is your problem but it might be worth a try if nothing else works.
