Gwyn's first born

Is it impossible that we are the first born?

 

I mean, the statue at the sunlight altar points towards a male, but Gwyndolin was raised as a girl, sooo. But that aside, it would explain why we can just walk around and demolish the lords of the land and walk up to the site of the first flame as if we were just walking across the street.

Is there anything specific that points definitively to the fact that we ARE NOT?

 

 

I was also thinking that the Gwyn we fight may possibly be the first born?

Maybe that tomb really is Gwyn, and the first born took up Gwyn's place after his fathers death.

Maybe the open chest at the tomb is where Gwyn's armor and crown belong.

Does he use his lightning bolts in the final battle? I killed him too fast.

If so, does he use Great Lightning Spear(First Born), or Sunlight Spear?

Or does he use neither?

That would lean more towards the Gwyn we fight being the firstborn..

I think it's very unlikely that From would make the player character special, so the protag is probably not the firstborn. Looking at their history, the KF series gave you literally a featureless character. You never even saw your own face in KF4, which was the last one ever made. In their Armored Core games, the protag is once again a blank canvas with no set characteristics. In Dark Souls, as in Demon's Souls, you're almost certainly nobody special once again. Kingseeker Frampt says you're the "chosen undead", but there's no proof that he's telling the truth. In fact, simply because he says that you're chosen, but then warns you to be cautious, implies that he may be lying. He may be trying to manipulate every capable undead he finds into fulfilling the prophecy, hoping that at least one will succeed.

 

My guess is we're nobody special. Just an undead who's determined and strong willed enough to resist the hollowing.

Makes enough sense. All the convincing I needed.

I'm still not sure about Gwyn and the First Born though.

Hmm..Who do we know that likes the sun, and also uses the Sunlight Spear miracle? Oh yeah! Solaire! It's rumored that he is the firstborn son of Gwyn. Also, you're a descendant of the Furtive Pygmy, who was one of the people to receive a Lord's Soul.

Ironically I would think that when a player stops playing, canonically speaking they go hollow, because they've "Given up" attempting to take any course of action. Unless of course you have completed one of the endings and stop at that point.

is it at all possible that Gwyn would have named his first born after himself? i mean his other kids are named after him: GWYNdolin & GWYNevere... so it would be safe to assume his first born is named Gwynsomething right?

 

Its not much but considering we dont have a definite name form him, its a start to finding/speculating his name.
