Clutter glitch

I have noticed that clutter acts a lil bit weird (like very slightly floating and I need to tap the grab key on them to make it stop). Also,I had a robe left on a shelf in Bruma's house and now I saw that it has sink in the shelf. If i'll try to move it,it shortly spazzes out and then it gets stuck (I still can take it in my inventory though so it's not the end of the world).

Also,I found out that in a few places I can't freely move items around, they act as if there's something there. To make things even more weird,I managed to make one of those invisible obstacles disappear somehow by keep moving an item.I kept finding resistance and suddenly, nothing.

One more thing that might be related to it.When I'm in the second floor of the house in Skingrad,my character keeps looking up but there's no reason for it.I even looked with free camera just in case but there's nothing there.

Now,I don't mind those things that much but I'm trying to figure out what causes them to save myself from possible troubles in the future.

The only mod that I'm using and could be the cause is cobl but I installed it just a few days ago.I unchecked every cobl related esp in obmm,I loaded an older save file and went to bruma to check the robe and it was slightly sinked (not as much as I found it in my later save though) so it seems cobl has nothing to do with it.

I almost forgot the weirdest thing I've seen.I killed two heretics in SI,I kept going but later on I fast travelled to that location and they were frozen as if they were standing and I had to tap the grab key to make them fall down. This thing has only happened once but It's definitely worth-mentioning.

I'm thinking that maybe the cause is a dirty mod or maybe the fact that I have 385 in-game days with that character or maybe,maybe,maybe...With other words I have no clue.

I can't understand what's causing this so any ideas would be great.

EDIT: The staring-at-nobody problem is figured out.

The staring issue has happened to me in the past (outside Aleswell of all places). Although it seemed like a scripting issue at the time I waited 4 hours, clean saved and loaded back up and it never happened again.

Is your character on the top floor (bedroom) and staring at the chandelier? I believe that's close to the central node of the cell. Think I've only ever seen one other case of this and not even sure it was resolved

It would be interesting to see your load order (perhaps you use similar mods) and also if you've ever optimised your mesh folders (either for the Oblivion BSA or individual mods that correlate for the other problems, mind

This all sounds like you have been using the console 'TCL' command to toggle HAVOC collision. This will, in some circumstances, cause the issues you are reporting. Use TCL at your own risk!

Floating and sinking objects - particularly ones you have placed yourself in game are not unusual and are related to the havok and collision set for objects in the game. I also find the odd NPC (particularly dead ones from mods) in the standing position with arms outstretched. Usually just activating them causes them to fall again.

Sinking items do tend to get "stuck" in what ever they sink into and can be difficult to grab or get. I usually do not fight with them using the "grab" key, I'll just pick them up again and then place them again.

A possible fix for placing objects in the game so they don't sink or float is decorating using the CS or using mods like;

Decorator Assistant http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/6021

Decorator Assistant Unlock http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/12397

Bookshelves http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/38354

which let you move objects easily and lock them in place and unlock them if you want to move them again. Not a guarantee, but it reduced the problems of sinking/floating and objects flying around in my game.

As for the PC looking in Skingrad, this may help or may be a possible explanation why http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:The_Rosethorn_Cache

As well, using the console command TCL on objects can cause some rather unusual events to occur with the object.

I did a few more tests and I found out what's happening. It happens when I've previously entered the room with a companion (I'm using CSR).I don't know why but sometimes, even when I leave them waiting somewhere,my character's head is fixed on looking at them.In the case of the Skingrad's house,he was looking up simply because I was in a different cell.

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks!I think you might got it,I have used it several times. If I wont use it again do you think those things will stop happening?

Thank you very much,I'm on my way to check those links out.

EDIT: I forgot to ask about the invisible obstacles. Can they be removed somehow?

Ok,I shouldn't just edit my last post.Probably nobody noticed it this way so a single bump should be allowed.

Is there a way to remove the collision bugs that the "tcl" command created? I googled about it but couldn't find anything useful. All ideas are welcome.

With the "tmg" command I could see the lines of the invisible obstacles (reminder, they only affect items, not my character) but I couldn't find anything about random collision bugs (some clutter floating, sometimes some skeletons do too and, some rare times, dead bodies collide with the ground).

In a nutshell: no. The HAVOC system is buggy at best, and downright annoying at times. What you have experienced is part of that buggyness, but to

be fair the console was never designed for fooling around in-game, it was a (probably Beta) developer debug tool. Hence 'use at your own risk'.

Here's a free tip: don't take wikis (any wiki) as a font of fact or truth. They are community websites, and come with all of the baggage of multiple points of view.
