Adipose
Twice in the last week I've been told not to install Skyrim in Program Files. Why? If not there, where?
M48A5
Twice in the last week I've been told not to install Skyrim in Program Files. Why? If not there, where?Everything in "Program Files" is protected by the Windows User Access Control. This prevents any changes to the programs located there. This means that you cannot use any mods that change anything about the Skyrim.exe file. This would include SKSE and SkyUI, among others. It is recommended that the game be installed in the location of your choice anywhere on the harddrive other than "Program Files". You could make a special "Bethesda" folder or just install the game in "My Games".
