dalc789
I'm getting a weird graphical glitch where some headgear is either going inside a person's head or changing their hair style, and with some character's hair going inside their head. I tried loading my game with no mods enabled and the same thing happens, so I'm pretty sure it's not any mods messing the game up. Anybody know what's causing this? http://imageshack.us/a/img821/2070/2012092700001.jpgMe and boon with the berets going inside our heads. http://imageshack.us/a/img845/7963/2012092700002.jpgDesperado cowboy head making my hair dissapear altogether. http://imageshack.us/a/img266/88/2012092700003.jpgSunny Smiles' hair going inside her head. luthienanarion
If you extracted any hair meshes from the BSA, delete them.
dalc789
I haven't extracted anything from the BSA, only installed mods. Is it possible that a mod may have done something when installed from the nexus mod manager? Also noticed I do have a Data/Meshes/Characters/Hair folder, is that what you mean for the hair meshes?EDIT: Just tried removing that, that wasn't the problem -.- Edited September 29, 2012 by dalc789
imperium999
I had the same problem after installing a Type 3 body and/or Mojave Delight and/or any new hair styles. The problem arises from the mesh being slightly larger than the headgear itself and/or a missing script around said headgear. You can see what I mean by 'script' when you put on something like the 1st Recon beret. Notice that your hairstyle is actually replaced by a different style, as if your hair were matted down by the beret. Using a non-vanilla hair style, the beret seemed unable to change said hair style to the 'wearing beret' style. I was able to fix the problem by making sure the 'weight' slider was all the way to 'light', and by making sure I used a vanilla hair style. Though all that may be BS since my theory shouldn't affect NPCs with vanilla hair...
luthienanarion
New Vegas is very picky about how hairstyles are made and packaged. Methods that work fine for FO3 do not work in FNV, so most hair mods do it incorrectly and you'll get a bald head under them.
