brownm13
Hello everyone, Can anybody explain to me (IN LAMENS TERMS) how to get a custom made piece of armour into skyrim that works on a character? - What to do from 3dsmax (I know how to use 3dsmax) - What to do to get the file from 3dsmax to nifscope (I have NO experience here so patronise me) - What to do to get file from nifscope to Skyrim Please explain in LOADS AND LOADS of detail please, I have looked on the internet, google, youtube, and here. The answers are there but each part is split up and found in loads of different places so I just can't keep track of it all. So if anyone can explain to me the entire process, or at least a part of it to get the ball rolling, then I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know why creating custom content has to be so damn complicatedThanks in advance,Brownm13
ghosu
...helped me a lot, you just need mesh + textures and afterwards follow this tutorial. Import using Creation Kit - well i've got a weapon tutorial in my sig, part 4 - but it's quite similar, in fact you just have to copy all needed armor forms instead of weapon forms and adjust the paths to your nif files / adjust values. Armor forms should be: NAMENAMEaaTemperArmorNAMERecipeArmorNAME Though, if you never imported anything, i would recommend to start with something easier like a weapon...weapon is a simple mesh with 1-2 nif files, armor need weighting/skinning and up to 20 nif files (each part, gender, skinny/heavy, 1stperson) - much more complicated. Afaik there are weapon tutorials for Max in his channel as well. greetings Edited September 27, 2012 by ghosu
Ragicka
I found this tutorial extremely helpful. He deals with armor but whether you decide on weapons or armor, the walk-through for setting up will get you started in no time.
