playingskyrim
Why would Skyrim NPC Editor 0_75_1 by foretrenty be wanting to use my browser to access the internet? My firewall caught it, but the program wasn't running. I haven't used it for a long time since the CK. Is it supposed to access the internet? theru
just block it ^^ dunno i dont use that tool but i dont see any reason for it to acces internet if it dosnt have mode update inbuilt, wich likely is not
playingskyrim
Well, yeah, I actually removed it. But, that doesn't address the issue as to why it was accessing the internet through my default browser as a module. I haven't read anywhere about an automatic update built into it. If it's not something foretrenty programmed in, then I'd like to know how it is happening. If it's a hack, then there are a lot of people who have installed it on their system unwittingly. Ragicka
Do you know which IP address it was trying to reach? Some applications will use the IP stack to loop back to itself. In these cases, the traffic doesn't actually leave the network card. I'm not a programmer so I don't know all the details. But I do know it's a common technique. Not saying that this is the case, just one possibility. Edit: I had a look and it is using the local loopback address 127.0.0.1 to connect back to itself. Foreign addrees 0.0.0.0:0 Looks ok to me.
