salmon29
As the title, I installed skyrim before and use many mods but somehow the whole thing screw up. So I reinstall skyrim but as soon as I try to click NEW the game would exit. Try to clear everything, reinstall, but still no different. Any help, suggestion? IsharaMeradin
Is the game fully patched? Are you trying to play modded without having first launched the game at least once unmodded thru the default launcher? If you reinstalled you need to run the game once via default methods to rebuild the ini files, then you can begin to mod the game and launch it with SKSE or something else. XKadianX
Just reinstalling Skyrim won't help you if a mod causes the problems. You need to deactivate or delete the mods. And yes, I ASSUME you never deleted the mods you installed since you didn't say so :/ That actually happens more often than you'd think... If it really screwed the game up that much I'd recommend you deinstall it again and check if the Skyrim folder still exists - if it still exists you have some files left which aren't from the vanilla (unmodded) skyrim. Delete those, or, if you happen to have the Creation Kit, delete the data folder in the Skyrim Directory. Every trace of your mods should be gone. With that done you can reinstall Skyrim and you should be able to play again. By the way, that is not the easiest or quickest way, I'm fully aware of that. It's one of the safest though. Other ways would be that you check what mod exactly causes the problem. You said it stops right when you start a new game, so you can assume it's something that a) changes the way you start the game (mods which will start you elsewhere for example, or let you customize how you start the game), or b) changes something in the starting area. deactivate one mod after another and keep checking if skyrim works after the Deactivation - and you should be able to find the culprit. salmon29
thanks for the helps. I'm really appreciate.I'm not sure if the game is fully patch as the reinstallation doesn't really give me any clue.I've deleted as much old stuffs I can find regarding to this game. So I'm not sure where to find. For the deactivation the customized stuffs, I'm not sure where to find them as I've deleted all the folder related to previous skyrim installations.I've remember running some data files from the start up screen, so I'm not sure if that would cause anything, but where do I look to deactivate those. Thanks again for any help.
