Invisible Piper

Okay, I have CBBE installed, Looks Menu, and Unique Player. The only mod I installed for Piper was Loving Piper, which wasn't working so I used SLM to modify her appearance. Worked good. Well, until we went to Sanctuary where she became invisible. I can interact with her if I bump into her, but otherwise she's perfectly invisible. Tried every console trick but alas, Piper remains invisible. In this screenshot I can see Piper's body outline. The thing protruding is a hair glitch. Anybody knows how I can fix this?

unique player should not affect piper so we can rule the potential issue between CBBE and Uniqe player out.

 

you mentioned you tried every console trick. that does not really help without knowing exactly what tricks you tried, their is a lot of console commands.

 

even so. open console, and click on piper, then type Resurrect, <-- this should reset her model. (Note: this commands works in skyrim, i dont know if it works in fallout 4, it should theoritically work)

 

and see if that fixes the primary issue of being invisible.

 

Did you disable/delete loving piper mod, you did not specifically mention this, so i need to ask. <-- if you havent, then i recommend you do so, this mod can still be loaded and affect her.

 

aside from the above. the only other option is to start disabling mods, starting with CBBE and proceeding with any mod that would affect the character model, hair,face,body etc etc. to see if the issue persists.

 

are you using Amazing Follower Tweaks or any follower management mod by any chance ?

 

Amazing Follower Tweaks can also modify her appearance, which could cause a conflict with other mods that also modify her appearance such as Loving Piper. which could result in invisible model (although the likelyhood of this is very slim, as it would be a simple matter of 1 mod overriding the other mod, rather then both mods canceling each other out, and forcing the game to fail to render her model)

 

with all that said, this is quite possibly a very rare issue, i have never experienced or seen this issue ever. the only thing remotely close would be weapons and or armor failing to load mesh/textures. but them problems are usually more simple to fix (since it would either be a Ba2 archive failing to load, or hardware related issue). an entire model however is a different ball game, although saying that, it could also very well be mesh and or textures failing to load.

The console commands I used without success were:

 

prid 00002f1f (which is Piper's ID number)

disable

enable

kill

ressurect

moveto player

I disabled Loving Piper: she's still invisible.

I do not have Amazing Followers Tweak or any companion mod.

I might try reinstalling the game from scratch, which is something I already did (kind of tedious).

Edit: I've used Loving Piper in the past without any problem but I think the mod might be the culprit, although I'm not sure. The mod's bug tab has a lot reported although none have reported an invisible Piper.

According to the mod page for Loving Piper (under requirements)

You need:

KS Hairdos

Ponytail Hairstyles

THBrows

1) Make sure you have all required files for all mods.

 

(Since you managed to change her appearance once, you may have already done this correctly).

 

2) One of the Hair Sets are glitchy in exactly this way (the stretch and invisible thing). Ruined several play throughs for me.

 

Can't remember which one it was anymore, (that was a while back.

Haven't seen anything like that since I switched to Fusion Girl 1.45 exclusively, [and holding there, because of: reasons]).

 

I don't recall ever succeeding at a live fix, unless the hair kicked out by itself (then just switch styles), otherwise, rather likely a new game is in order.

So the thing that worked for me was this:

 

-Click on invisible character in console

- Type showlooksmenu (character id)

- Edit something on the head or face (body doesn't work for some reason)

 

AND BOOM! They're back or should be. Might take a few tries and mine teleported a few feet away from me but did reappear. Good luck.
