LE Dovahkiin's Map Markers

I'm an habitual Wilderness Wanderer in Skyrim and my first character is level 64 after 385 hours. As I have played I have found locations and camps that have no name and didn't appear as fast travel markers and were hard to find again. I could not understand why a Nord Ranger could not buy a tent, sleeping bag and bear trap from The Drunken Huntsman, or could not build camp fires. Then gradually I found these excellent mods:

I think all of these are available on the Nexus.

 

I've been trying to find a mod that lets me add my own map markers for more than six months but have had no luck and have no idea how to make one. I've looked at gfx and swf files and it's too far beyond my abilities.

 

Here's my idea:

 

The Dovakhiin's Map Marker Mod

 

To be compatible with:

• Althirs Camping Tools English
  
• A Quality World Map - All Roads, High Res Clear Skies
  
• Secondary Locations Map Markers
  
• Dungeon Quest Awareness
  
• Other camping and map mods
  

 

1. Teepee Camp Site Map Markers in Light Red for the Dovakhiin's camp sites,. so they stand out on the map and are different to bandit and hunter's camp sites.
   
2. Miscellaneous Map markers, EG Ø, in Pale Blue for marking any other sites discovered that are not covered by Secondary Locations Map Markers or The Catographer's map Markers (hidden entrances etc).
   
3. The markers are weightless and when used they are planted in the ground as an 8 foot pole with a banner or flag on it. A Yellow rag would do.
   
4. The Pale Blue markers have a pop-up text box so you can name the location yourself - "Animal Cave", "Dwemer Rubble", "Hidden Entrance" etc (Not essential if too complicated, but would be nice).
   
5. The Red markers are just called "Dovakhiin's Camp".
   
6. All planted markers appear on the overland map as the appropriate symbol with the appropriate colour and the relevant name.
   
7. All planted markers can be used as fast travel points.
   
8. All planted markers can be individually picked up and so removed from the overland map.
   
9. The markers could work a bit like the camping items in Althir's mod, where you put a firewood log on the ground, click on it in Sneak mode and it changes into the item. Click again in Sneak mode and it packs away. Click in normal mode to "use" it.
   
10. There only need to be two inventory items: Camp Marker and Miscellaneous Marker, as Althir's mod doesn't remove the items from inventory when you build a camp site with several tents, a campfire with cooking spit etc. So you can build camps all over Skyrim. I just can't find them again! :wallbash:
    

 

Is there anyone here who has the knowledge to help me with this? Or make it for me?

 

There are many Map Marker and Camp Site Mods, but none of them do this with map markers.

I've got Secondary Locations Map Markers which actually has more markers than The Cartographer's Map Markers mod and was made from the Preimia Deluxe game guide.

 

What my mod request actually is is to add my own map markers to mark my camp sites in a different colour to the generic ones and also another map marker to mark things like hidden entrances that don't get marked even with SLMM or TCMM. It's not q question of using existing mods, I need a mod to marker additional things.

No there aren't. The closest is Pocket Campsite on the Steam Workshop and it only has 25 generic camp markers and they are not coloured, they are white, same as all the other camp markers. And there are no Miscellaneous Markers.

 

I need a lot more than 25 and I need them to be coloured. I don't need ALL the markers on the map to be coloured, just the custom camp markers I add myself. Pocket Campsite also has a zillion other features, causes intermittent fps drop and stutter in the area where you build a large stockade and the latest version has a bug that causes Stormcloak raids to spawn inside Whiterun.

 

If you are so certain there are mods already that do what I want, perhaps you can post a link. I've only been looking for six months, so perhaps you know something I don't. :thumbsup:
