Modding Help - Connecting Cells

Okay, I'm brand new to modding; I don't know much about the CS, except for how to place items, move the camera, etc. Anyways, I took a nice castle mod I had downloaded, and put in some extra items to make it more evil. After that I decided it needed a torture chamber, (built inside another mod)so I tried placing a door in the castle, then connecting the teleport options to the chamber and back. THen, when I try to test it out in Oblivion, it crashes the game on the opening screen. Anyone have an idea of what I did wrong?

10 to 1 you opened the other mod and got the stuff you wanted for your torture chamber out of it, effectively making it a Master for your mod. Then when you load oblivion it can't find the master so it crashes your game.

Open the construction set, select your mod, look in the master list on the right. Under Oblivion.esm there will be another master. Select it and click your delete key.

Okay I'll try that. There's two other .esm's there, CM Partners and something called "Ingredient Jars". If I'm lucky, hopefully it'll fix another problem I spotted, with objects from other mods I placed there not showing up in Oblivion.

Erm, just found a new problem. When I was opening TES CS, it just gave me the hated gray screen of death, "Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close." when I try to open the mod in Data. Any ideas? Instead of crashing Oblivion, it's crashing the CS, so I have no idea of how to fix it.

What did you mean by this? "There's two other .esm's there" there--where? In OBMM?

I hope you didn't try taking those out of your load order.

See this thread, and if you want to, send me the mod you've been making, and I'll remove the dependency for you.

They were in the box in the upper-right hand corner of the CS data folder. However, I think I found the solution. I just took the original mod's .esp out and replaced the edited one, and everything's working fine now. Thanks!

Now I've gotta figure out how to properly get doors to work..

Good job. Doors are quite tricky. I recommend the construction set wiki:

Thanks for that! I've figured out how to make a new cell and connect it. Cyrodiil shall tremble before me! However, one last question.. Do you know if there's any reason that objects from other mods don't show up in mine? For example, I'm trying to get the Sithis statue from Vile Lair to show up in my mod, and it just disappears in the game. It also happens with user-made mods.
