xneseyx
I just finished as a city elf by doing Morri's ritual, and I made Shianni the bann of the alienage. I feel horrible cause I got Shianni killed. it says that "...a few years later Shianni was killed by a human bigot..." I can't believe that by doing a good thing for your family they killed her off. butat least Soris is happy... "Soris eventually married a human woman... blah blah moved to highever with their kids" something like that. I think I might just reload my last save and not make Shianni the bann. Anybody else have this happen to them? and if it makes a difference what choices I made in the prologue-thing, I killed Vaughan (I think that's spelled right) and took all the blame for what happened. but I'm still pissed about Shianni. Carley910
Lots of spoilers, obviously: Shianni will eventually be killed if she is made bann, but she will be a force for positive change for the city elves until that point. Soris won't be killed if you pick him, but he'll resign his post a year later because people will not accept him marrying a human woman. Under Shianni the elves will resist human oppression more, but she'll die if you pick her. My impression is that Soris won't do as good a job. The best alternative might be to pick your warden as the bann. I would say that they have the most positive effect on the alienage out of the three options, and that pick doesn't cause Shianni to die (I think she still becomes an elder). Of course this is just my interpretation :) Edited February 4, 2013 by Carley910
