 Guys chill out...

THERE WILL BE A CS FOR FALLOUT 3!!!!!

ehh!?... how do i know that?

just take a look at the game engine...

its the engine used in oblivion enhanced with some of the most popular

mods out there today.

whether or not the game engine is capable of being modded is not the question. they use a modified version of the same engine as oblivion, with the same file structure. the game is capable of supporting addons. the question is whether or not they will release their editing tools to the public, or keep them locked away to increase sales of DLC.

oh even if they dont take a CS out , we would end up adapting

the oblivion CS to fallout3 (since files structure is almost the same)

you cant adapt the oblivion CS to work with fallout files. the files in fallout use a modified format to those of oblivion, and you cant just edit the oblivion CS to do things it isnt programmed to do. its not open source; we dont have the source code available to modify and recompile, so changing the way it works is virtually impossible. at best, we'd get a community made tool to replicate the functionality of the oblivion CS, but this would be incredibly difficult and highly unlikely.

if bethesda does not release a CS, extensive modification of fallout would be relegated to hardcore modders programming their own tools.

Due to mods, Oblivion is one of my most played games of all time. I love the Fallout theme. Put Oblivion modding with the Fallout theme and you've got a killer combination.

Signed. Though I love the game, I'm already getting modding sickness. I want to play with its internals.

I'm still playing Morrowind and Oblivion years after I bought them. Having an SDK may mean the difference between Bethesda having a good game or an exceptional game. It may even persuade more people to buy their next game. If their DLC is good people will buy it regardless of an SDK, not having one doesn't mean more people will buy DLC that isn't good. It's also going to increase the shelf life of the game which in turn leads to more customers. Overall it would be a smart decision to release one within 3 months of game release. It should increase their revenue.

You have my signature.

Seriously, I managed to clock at least 8000 hours thanks to Oblivion mods, and its what always influences me to buy PC versions over console versions.

Like Jared, I plan to get into more serious modding, because my originals [for Oblivion] were really just locations (which I never released due to inability to script events the way I envisioned them), when I wanted them to be quest lines people could enjoy... And I feel Fallout 3 has great potential for the same purpose...

So everyone, let Bethesda here our plea, no matter how little they may think of it, they should know the majority of their crowd are PC gamers who are either modders, or love mods!

As stated elsewhere, I think Beth are afraid of parents and Jack Thompson

(

) blaming bethesda of giving us tools to make nude people killing young childs in a 3d world.

Some may think otherwise but I ALSO think that if we can manage to get killable childs without a CS, then Beth couldn't be blamed to provide tools that makes this game immoral.
