Unable to Shout more than once

Okay, so I have no idea if this is the right place for this post but here it goes...

I have several mods loaded under Skyrim with update 9 and the latest expansion, Dawnguard. Non of the mods have anything to do with the Shout ability. However, I did use a console command to shorten the length of recovery time for a shout. I used aura whisper once and now the game WILL NOT let me shout again at all. I tried reverting the console setting back to the original recovery times but the compass at the top of the screen remains blue. I started a new game thinking maybe the modded game was corrupted some how. Nada. As soon as I get the unrelenting force shout and try and use it the compass flashes white and stays blue.

My question is has anyone ever had this problem and what do you do to fix it? And for all you people that want to say that's what you get for cheating, I have already beaten the game twice, once on the ps3 and once on the pc without any cheats.

Not saying that's what you get for cheating, that's your own business, but using the console commands is fairly risky; people get into all kinds of messes.

 

It is possible that verifying your game files through steam will cure this, it works at the oddest times.

Otherwise my guess is that you will have to do a complete, clean uninstall/reinstall of the game, using the delete local content thing at steam, but also manually removing your savegames and anything left in the data folders.

Thanks for the reply! However, I did manage to fix the issue (whatever it was; honestly I really don't know). After spending a couple of hours on google I ran across an option I had not tried yet and toggled god mode for a moment (tgm in the console) and the compass was normal. I then turned it off (yes, I agree, that option takes all the fun right out of the game), and then I tried my shout and it worked great. cooled down and tried it again and it worked again. Problem solved! Thanks again for the reply!
