phenderix
http://oi48.tinypic.com/35ibx9c.jpg Hello everyone! I am creating this topic to create hype for an upcoming mod I am working on. I just decided to begin this mod a few minutes ago and my immense level of excitement has lead me to create this topic. If you have ever used any of my mods before then you will absolutely love my upcoming magic mod. My goal is for it to exceed the efforts of Midas Magic for Oblivion. In brief vague details this will be what the mod includes: The Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Version 2.00 - vastly vastly improved since 1.00 if you saw that version - in addition all Harry Potter references will be removed and lore appropriate names will be given)Phenderix Ultimate Magic System (WIth even more added spells - shield category completed - maybe an addition of holy and shadow elements or one single mystic element - further balance)Phenderix Magic Evolved (minus a lot of the elemental spells - will be taking teleport spells and other useful spells like that and adding them to the vendors for sale) This will be a massive culmination of my works. I hope some of you are as excited as I am.If you have any ideas or complaints about my previous mods you want fixed please list them here. Thank you  -phenderix Edited October 3, 2012 by phenderix

Issa 5
Cool! I'll certainly give it a try, especially if you do add Shadow Spells to PUMS! I do like the idea of linking all your mods together. :) If you want suggestions, perhaps you could add the ability to cast Simulacrum (create a replica of yourself that has all your skills but very low HP)? One of my favorite old D&D mods, and I think it would work perfectly with Phantom Magic. :) Good luck with this-you really do seem to work hard on these mods. I would suggest, however, that you tone down the 'marketing speech' when hyping up your new mods-I think it may turn quite a few people off downloading! JanusForbeare
I would suggest, however, that you tone down the 'marketing speech' when hyping up your new mods-I think it may turn quite a few people off downloading! It's a matter of opinion, of course, but I disagree... I fully expect mod authors to promote their work. At least Phendrix appears to be literate; what gets under my skin are the authors who expect to be taken seriously when their adverts are full of spelling mistakes, randomly capitalized words, and run-on sentences. I mean, seriously, the forums have a built in spellchecker... there's really no excuse. That aside, I welcome this new project, particularly since it's cutting out the HP references which kind of turned me off the Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (which is otherwise a great mod, providing some pretty bad-ass spells). One suggestion, Phendrix: if your goal is to surpass Midas, there are two vital ingredients that you need to be sure to emphasize: new and interesting ways to acquire spells (the aurum assimilator - or whatever it was called - was a really cool innovation), and non-combat magic. Wizards in Skyrim can't do much besides kill things in slightly different ways... what I want to see is an immersive magic system that provides perks to general gameplay. You already seem to be onto something the teleports; if I were you, I'd take ideas like that and run with them. Good luck!
gulogulo
And what exactly will distinguish your mod from other magic mods? Could you explain that? Also are you talking about Phenderix Ultimate Magic System, your last mod I presume or do you have something different in your mind?

That spell would be pretty hard to make but is probably possible. Will look into it. I will likely be adding a Demonic and Divine elements. That aside, I welcome this new project, particularly since it's cutting out the HP references which kind of turned me off the Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (which is otherwise a great mod, providing some pretty bad-ass spells). You already seem to be onto something the teleports; if I were you, I'd take ideas like that and run with them. Good luck! Thanks! The whole aurum type acquirement system will be the one flaw of the mod. I will still likely have the user buy the spells. There are just too many spells to create a system like that for. The new PUMS mod I created encourages trial and error and exploration to find new spells combinations though so that "kind of" avoids the issue. And what exactly will distinguish your mod from other magic mods? Could you explain that? Also are you talking about Phenderix Ultimate Magic System, your last mod I presume or do you have something different in your mind? It will contain the school in its new 2.00 form (completely redone basically form 1.00, best non-elemental spells from magic evolved reworked, elemental spells from magic evolved worked into the PUMS system, and in addition to this all of the spells contained in PUMS already in addition to new element types) In addition I am currently considering editing all the spells in the game for the new overhaul system presented by PUMS and am also considering merging my sound mod in as well. This was just a friendly observation based off the reactions I've seen to Phenderix's hype topics before. I have no issue with it myself, but I sort of can see how it could rub someone up the wrong way-and I sincerely apologize to Phenderix if it seems like I was needlessly criticizing him. (Can't wait for the 11th, by the way! :D) Edited October 3, 2012 by Issa
Blaufrosch
That sounds realy good, i especially like the idea to leave out the content of harry. That has previously prevented me from using your wichcraft mod. Btw, just a matter of taste. Plz keep on the good work. Appart from that, i share the opinion of JanusForbeare in most points (as far as the topic) Cheers
Issa 5
Just had an idea about the lack of an 'Aurum Reactor' idea for the mod. How about picking a few of the most powerful spell tomes and hiding them throughout Skyrim, or giving them to challenge enemies? I don't think any special coding would be required for this, and you can only do it to the most powerful/unique ones so it wouldn't require stupid amounts of work. It would be a cool way of encouraging exploration and spreading all your awesome content through the world as opposed to concentrating it all into the School. :)

Not sure how I want to do it yet.I think a few people are going to be helping me on the project so hopefully it goes well :) Also! Just released an update for my PUMS mod that increases vastly increases script performance!
