A DC reclaimed?

Hey guys, this is my first posting. And since I am just getting started with modding in New Vegas, I have a quick question, since I happen to love Fallout 3 almost more than New Vegas (wish I could add a casino or two to it.) I was hoping, at some point, to create a larger mod involving your character meet someone who asks you to help unify the different settlements of the DC wastes under one banner, with Megaton as the Capitol (assuming you haven't blown it sky high.) During this process, one of your tasks would be to organize a cleanup area of the ruins. So my question is, would it be possible to create triggers so that, after you started the project, you would see less of the debris piles each week or something? I think it would be awesome to see more settlements and less ruins in the wastes with more people. Kind of a "rebuild the world" scenario, you know.

Anyway, let me know what you think. And happy modding.

Sure. Place an XMarker and use it to link all of the references you want to be "cleaned up" after a week. Link them through the Enable Parent Window and do NOT set the opposite of Parent State flag. When you use a script to disable that XMarker, any and all references that use it as a parent will themselves be disabled, giving you the appearance of cleaning. Repeat for the next time frame. It's easier for you to use multiple XMarkers in one area, then you can easily attach the references to them, i.e. use one for week one, another for week two, etc. etc.. When you are done, you can link all of the XMarkers for week one to a single XMarker for all of the week one XMarkers, repeat for the other weeks. This makes scripting easier and have less impact on performance.
