Kinda new to using Nexus Mod Manager, not sure if I'm doing it rig

I'm trying to play SuperSkryimBros, but for the record, I don't know if I've ever gotten any mods to work.

So I start up Nexus Mod manager and it looks like the "plugin" for SuperSkryimBros and the "mods" for SuperSkyrimBros are both working.

Then I clicked on "Launch Skyrim."

The directions for the mod state to look on the map near Winterhold for an icon of an abandoned house and fast travel to it. I see nothing on my map, just Winterhold. I went to Winterhold and looked all around and didn't see an abandoned house.

The only thing I think I could be doing wrong is clicking "Launch Skyrim" instead of "Launch Custom Skyrim." Do I have to hit "Launch Custom" to play the modded game?

However, when I click that, I get this message: "No custom launch command has been set."

So I'm pretty confused and not sure what to do. Any advice?

NMM requires a legal copy of Skyrim run through Steam. Assuming that you have that,

I also notice that your version of NMM is a few versions back, maybe try updating to the current version?

You might also double-check that the mod you are using does not require anything else, like Dawnguard, skse, etc.

Launch Skyrim is the correct button, unless you use skse, which it appears you do not.

I think I got it working now, except, it's kinda not working. Hard to explain. The abandoned house the mod's sposed to make appear is there as well as the bed. The directions say to sleep in the bed and you'll wake up in Super Skyrim Bros. world or whatever. But after sleeping, I just wake up feeling rested, in the normal Skyrim game.

So it partially works, but not completely.... Very strange... Not sure if I need the skse, maybe it's required for this mod?

Have you got Skyrim script extender set up and installed?

You'll need it for most things with advanced features, Such as SkyUI you are also running.

Installing BOSS and Wrye Bash May also help you with load order and bashed patched.

BOSS will auto sorted known addons into the right order to prevent crashes and conflicts.

Wrye Bash will assist you in doing so and allow you see exactly what is active and able to be used with others.

considering you've install through NMM it should be install correctly.

you'll need to download and install SKSE from *CLICKY* SILVERLOCK *CLICKY*

And run skyrim with it using NMM under launch skyrim there is a little arrow. If SKSE is installed correctly you should see a Launch SKSE.

This is what you should be aiming to launch with.

the mod itself has no requirements so i can't see why it's not working unless it's not loading with the esp active.

The to download wrye bash.

install/download as you would with nexus and use wrye bash to organise and launch, Hopefully should sort your problem.

All the best.
