JanusForbeare
So I picked up DG when it went on sale the other day, and have had all kinds of annoying issues crop up ever since. First off, when I freed Serana from the obelisk, it took her five minutes before she'd start talking to me. I could target her, but whenever I tried to speak to her, I simply got the "activate fail" sound that you get when something can't be used. I tried leaving the area and returning, which did nothing. I reloaded from an earlier save, which was just as useless. Eventually, I got tired of it and went to get some food. When I came back, she finally decided that I was worth talking to, and I managed to continue on with the questline. So, problem solved... I guess. But now I've got a bigger issue. After accepting Lord Harkon's blood, I found that two new problems had cropped up: A) I can no longer use the mouse wheel to zoom in/out, or to switch from first person to third person view. B) Even worse, I can't use the mouse buttons to draw or use my weapons. My mouse is properly connected to my computer, and works just fine outside of Skyrim and on earlier saves. I tried an "enableplayercontrols" command in the console, to no effect. I haven't been able to find any references to this problem on UESP or google. Does anyone have any insights into this issue? Georgiegril
Well I guess I'm glad I didn't get DG... Sorry you are having problems with it! I was just wondering if you took a look at your prefs .ini file to make sure your controls have the mouse enabled. Every time there's a patch my prefs values get reset randomly, it seems. Just thinking maybe the DLC did that to you.
JanusForbeare
Thanks for the reply! I've looked through my SkyrimPrefs.ini file, but can't find a line with the words "mouse enabled". The only lines that say anything about the mouse have to do with cursor speed. Since the issue only occurs after becoming a vampire lord (or possibly after entering Castle Volkihar, I'm not sure which) and doesn't occur when I load other saves, I don't think it's an .ini problem. It seems more as if my controls aren't resetting properly after reverting from the Vampire Lord shape. Nevertheless, I appreciate the input! Georgiegril
Well you are probably right about that. Would have been nice if it had worked! I hope someone else comes up with the answer!
Blaufrosch
Never heard of it, but some people already have problems with the 1st/3rd view. Perhaps it's the same cause (savegame-bug), then the "Dawnguard 3rd person Fix" might help: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22620

I'll give that a shot in a little bit and post the results!
