Hey everyone!

For those of you who haven't heard of my main project, Rochebere, it's basically a large city complete with a lengthy main questline and several new gameplay features, such as income/rent, an archery target and a changing city based on your decisions.

About halfway through the main questline the player is forced to leave the city in search of a criminal (I'm not going to reveal too much for spoiler purposes  ), and that search brings you to the small settlement of Elmscreak- A snow capped town high up in the mountains along the borders of Cyrodiil and Skyrim.

My question is this- Do you think that Elmscreak should also be released as a standalone town mod?

The town wouldn't seem particularly out of place without Rochebere- the two aren't directly connected. Elmscreak has it's own NPC's, Crime tracking system, (Seperate from Rochebere's) Shops and an inn (I'll probably add a small player home if I do a standalone version too).

There are several retextures in the town too, such as houses and signposts. It's townsfolk also have custom retextured fur clothing.

Below are some screenshots of Elmscreak.

Let me know your suggestions in the Poll and Comments!

Your post yesterday got swamped under talk about Hearthfire, complaints about Hearthfire, indifference to Hearthfire, and repetitive bugs reports about Hearthfire :P Bad timing there.

Feedback: Yes. At least if it will more than copy-paste a town that's good for only one little side mission. For instance I can see how a town could be useful in a city mod for one single quest but basically be nothing but scenery and not be a very good town independently... If it has depth, then I say yes. :)

Well in the Rochebere mod, like I said, you have to leave the city for this town as part of the MQL. I was thinking though, since it has it's own NPC's, stores, a player home (I decided to add that in for the Rochebere version too). I'll probably add a quest or two and some misc objectives for the standalone version as well. Thanks for your feedback!

I don't understand why someone would want this without Rochebere. If they wanted one they would most likely want them both. Sounds like a significant amount of extra work to me. If you decide to update it you would have to update both files. Or, you could make it an esm that Rochebere is dependent on. Then it would be a separate file without those problems.

If you have the time and don't mind the effort, I would recommend you release Elmscreak as a standalone mod. There aren't many mods that add cities and, from what you've said, it sounds complete enough to support its own mod. I say yes, but I don't know how much work it is to repurpose a modded area into its own package. I'll just download Rochebere and get both cities.
