Aeryn333
OK I will kinda ask the same Q...is it anything like Unreal Tournament 3 and 4, not played the new one..I got hooked on RP games.. I played that before I got hooked on RP games...I modded skins for the game complex ones, and was a pretty good player enough to go on-line and hold my own..will Fallout have that kind of skinning available and gameplay..as Unreal Tournament..I like Arx Fatalis, Two Worlds in its way,Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Morrowind and Oblivion..I did enjoy playing Unreal..I also have been wondering about this game..is it like Unreal Tournament in any way, you think if I like that, I might this, is this more a mix of that and Oblivion..??? cheers
Denamic
It's not like Unreal at all.Only thing similar is the perspective and not much else. And it's not an FPS. Like Oblivion, it's an RPG from a first/third person perspective. You can't really explain the game by comparing it to something else, since there's no other game like it.The closest thing would be Oblivion, but only because it uses the same graphics engine; The game itself is radically different.Fallout 3 is Fallout 3. It's an excellent game that everyone should try out.
zmily
fallout 3 and stalker is somewhat similar.. they are both post apocalyptic like.. with mutants, raiation, guns and bombs, 1st/3rd person wiew and they are both a mix of rpg and fps. kinda.. biggest diffrences i have notised is loading time, story, and graphics.. and offcourse the game engine..but what u do in game is almost the same for both.. get a quest, kill something, scavenge, sell what u scavenge, buy bigger gun, continue with quest, kill more bandits/raiders, bloodscukers/centaurs, pseudogiants/supermutants. scavenge/sell/buy guns & ammo, get side quest, kill/sell/buy, join a faction/play good or evil.. u get my drift... stalker is more fps and a less rpg. fallout is more rpg and less fps... me thinks :)
fallout3enthusiast
Alot of Morrowind and Oblivion players have been alienated by Fallout 3 stark and less vibrant and exquisete world. And a lot of Retro Fallout gamers hate the game because of its percieved shallowness/dumbness, its gameplay, and the act of *pooing* on lore which Bethesda have admittedly done. Then there are the people who accept that it is different from its forebearers, in fact a totally new game, with a unique enviroment, and a brilliant one at that. Roflcore
Just to make this clear: Fallout 3 is not an rpg. An Action RPG at best, but I'd say its a sandbox shooter like stalker or gtv IV. Stats like Special or Skillpoints have virtually no effect on your playinstyle/abilities. Moral choices and consequences are also almost not existing. If you like stalker and oblivion, this might work. If you expect something like fallout or baldurs gate: buy something else.
