eroded
I hope I’m posting this is the right place… Okay, so I’ve searched Google and can’t seem to find a solution to my question. Basically I have a mod that changes the face and hair of a specific vanilla NPC, and it’d be all fine and all if ApachiiSkyHair wasn’t a master for the mod. I like that particular hair mod, but recently found out that it was the cause of my low frame rate, despite only that particular NPC using the hair in-game *shrug* I wanted to know if there was anyway to actually inject that particular NPC’s hair style from ApachiiSkyHair into the mod itself without having ApachiiSkyHair as a master – like, how some people have made NPC overhauls with, let’s say, KS Hairdos by just having the textures and meshes and not the master esp. I know that there’s going to be some work in the Creation Kit for me to do this (if it’s even possible), but I’m willing to go through that if it means I can have this NPC makeover without having to deal with the low FPS. IsharaMeradin
It is possible. I don't remember all the steps tho. I know that the hair records need to be copied / replicated. The meshes / textures themselves could remain unchanged or you can adjust their location. There might be a formlist for the race where the hair record needs to be added but I'm not too sure. Best course of action would be looking at the hair mod and seeing how it is done, then replicate that but just for the single hair.
polingc
Look up Skylar modding on YouTube; she has great tutorials for making stand alone followers, which is what you'll need to do. Short version: copy the hair mesh and texture files to your data folder, open the creation kit Copy an existing vanilla hair object Change the mesh and texture properties to the Apachii hair mesh and texture (both the hair and scalp pieces) Be sure to flag the scalp as an extra Open the NPC's actor window Find the face parts, change the hair to your Apachii hair style. If all is good you should see the hair in the preview window. Save the changes and EXPORT THE FACE GEN FILES (select the NPC in the left hand window and hit cntrl+F4, if i remember correctly). MumblesMalarky
If you don't care about using Apachii and you just want that hair to work for that character, why not just delete all the other hair styles in apachii so it can't call on them and lag you to hell? All the hair styles are stored in your apachii mod folder.
