BoddackChill
i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but i would like to become a modder and i will appreciate if somoene could tell me the names of software they use for modding and description of the program. (i already know you need the creation kit) i think other wannabe modders would like to know. thank you
WastelandAssassin
well, there aren't that many programs to use, as most of the things are done via the creation kithowever, if you want to alter items in terms of looks, or create new items, you will need 3 types of softwaresthe first is a 3D modelling software, i think most people use Blenderthe second is a software for making textures, you can use Photoshop if you have it, or you could use a free software like GIMPand the last thing you need is the software to combine both model and texture, and that software is NifSkope hope that gives you a little head start, though it'll take time to learn how to use these softwares

Dudeman325
Well, I'm not someone who makes 3d meshes/textures, so I don't really know the best software for that, but I do use a couple other programs besides the Creation Kit whenever the modding itch needs a scratch. I use TESVSnip for when I need to change an esp to esm, or the other way around, although I don't use it for anything else as I've heard people sometimes have issues messing around with TESVSnip. I also use FOMM to extract art from bsa files when I need to, although this really doesn't come up that often (mostly for personal projects, when I want to use art from one mod in a different mod).
