Hellfire3698
So here's my situation: I have been using nexus mod manager for a while. I've downloaded a lot of mods through NMM and I'm currently modding Fallout New Vegas. I was trying to load weapons of the new millenia but for some reason the only way to download the mod into New Vegas is through Mod Organizer 2. So I went through a lot of trial and error to get Mod Organizer 2 to work, and to install Weapons of the New Millenia through Mod Organizer 2. However, the New Millenia mod doesn't seem to be working, and Mod Organizer has this thing where I have to select a launcher. I had to edit it to using the NVSE launcher because it has the 4gb patch, and of course the script extender. I also installed a few additional mods, and what I didn't expect is that now whatever I install from nexus with the "Mod Manager Download" goes to Mod Organizer 2 instead of Nexus Mod Manager from then on. I don't know what I did to get to where I am now, but not only did the installed and activated mods in Mod Organizer not work at all (despite doing all the steps so that they do work), but now for some reason I can't download anymore mods to either Mod Managers whenever I use "Mod Manager Download". I can still download manually and send all manual files to NMM (I'm most used to this one), but I want to know how to not only get the mods in Mod Organizer to actually work, but to also be able to use the "Mod Manager download" again. I want it to work again because I'm still new to modding and I don't want to make a mistake and cause the game to crash hard, or install a mod wrong. That's basically what just happened to me with Mod Organizer 2. If there's any advice on fixing the Mod Organizer 2, the proper installation of the "Weapons of the New Millenia", and how to make the "Mod Manager Download" work again, that'd be very appreciated. Rabbit1251
The Nexus did not make Mod Organizer 2 and has ceased support for the Nexus Mod Manager. Upgrading to Vortex should solve your problem. The Rabbit
WestendSniper
You lost me when you said everything you download goes to MO2 instead of NMM. If you followed the install instructions that is what is supposed to happen, why else would you even get MO2 to begin with if not to install mods with it. If you want to install mods with NMM you can uninstall MO2, when clicking the install with mod manager button it will prompt you to use NMM (most likely, not sure I've stopped using NMM a while ago). I have used Vortex, and it's ok but I prefer MO2 because of how easy it is to change the load order and it tells me what mods conflict with each other but as Rabbit 51 said, MO2 is not supported by Nexus. When installing mods using MO2 make sure to click the checkmark box on the left side menu, otherwise it will not show in game. This is useful if you quickly want to see if the mod works how you want it to on a clean save. If you don't like it or would want to use it for later you can just exit out the game and uncheck it and it won't show up in your game even if it's installed. What I'm unsure of your question is if you want to use NMM or MO2. You can use both but I don't see the reason why unless you have mods installed previously using NMM. I uninstalled every mod off NMM and re-installed them on MO2 so I could completely uninstall NMM. I used the mods on MO2 on a save where I used the mods for NMM and it works perfectly, but be careful because doing this may corrupt your saves, so you might just want to start fresh, new game, new mod loadout as it will run with less errors that way. Another reason why you're mod may not be working may be also because of a mod conflict or the load order which you can not see using NMM, so switching to MO2 can help with that as well. I don't know how else to help you.
WestendSniper
I would just un-install than re-install one mod manager you want to use if you are unsure how to configure the options, that should reboot the default settings, I'm pretty sure you can do this without deleting your mods, and even so, you could just re-download the mods again. But understand you can only download mods from Nexus using the "Mod Manager Download" button with only ONE mod manager, you can't interchange from NMM, Vortex, or MO2.
