Gorgopis
Hello Vortex Support, After reinstalling Skyrim LE, and setting up Vortex to send mods and downloads to separate folders on a 'D' partition, where my new Steam reinstall of the game is located, the game won't launch if the dlc are enabled. I do see the dlc esm files in my data folder. The dlc also show as enabled on both the mod and plugins panels. (I cannot remove them from the plugins panel, but I could remove from the mods panel.) The correct load order appears in the mods panel. If I uncheck the dlc in the data files selection during the skyrim launch-menu screen, and leave other mods checked, the game will run, but there's no Solstheim boat in Windhelm, and Durak doesn't appear, etc. Other enabled climate and weather and body mods do work. But not the dlc. 1) I did reinstall the dlc's from STEAM, but found no success getting the game to play with them enabled and checked. 2) I also tried adding the dlc's esm.s manually from my data folder via Vortex into the mods panel, at which time a Vortex popup indicated "could not find archive," but I installed and enabled them anyway, The game still will not launch with the dlc checked and/or enabled. Though it will launch without the dlc checked and/or enabled. The remedy may be simple, but I am failing to intuit it. (BTW, I tried with a new level 1 character, as well as with a level 60 vanilla saved character. The level 60 character-save played, but with a lost Serana, a gone Lakeview Manor, etc.) Thanks! Gorgopis
Solved. For those looking over my shoulder, finding this old issue for the first time, here’s what worked for my pc. I logged onto STEAM; right clicked my game; went to properties; opened up local files tab; and clicked to verify integrity of my local game cache. Steam found two unrepaired files, repaired one automatically on my closing that window, but refused to repair the second one indicated. Doesn’t tell you which files. Anyhow, I launched Skyrim LE from within STEAM, and voila, dlc was there, as were many of my preferred mods, though not checked in the data files menu. So far so good. I Returned to Vortex, enabled all mods, and allowed/trusted Vortex to set recommended load orders for my preferred 30 mods. I returned to my pc, launched Skyrim (offline) from the SKSE launcher, and found all dlc and mods present. My Old saves worked too. For those like me who are spoiled, and who expect these services to juggle seamlessly, we need to realize that many of these services are works in progress. They still provide amazing functionality. Still, thanks.
