rickgamer
I don't think this would be a complected mod anyway, I'm trying to learn myself so I can start making some, I've done some on Oblivion but haven't uploaded any yet because either they have already been done (usually better) or just mainly silly little mods that have no use, but hey we have all got to start somewhere right, and now this game is out I can start learning more about modding this game, a fresh game for a fresh modder  Anyway I reckon this game will be pretty popular with the mods, but one thing I thought would be a good idea for Fallout 3 is a custom radio station since we now have radio's in this game, I'm sure there's a way to add your own music into the game somehow but since this was never in Oblivion I'm not too sure where to start, maybe I can get some help from you guys. MechanicalPirate
I should think this would be completely possible, but only once (if) we get a construction set. Due to their being several radio stations in game I reckon they are not hardcoded in, but there is some way they could be editted and have more added. Once we get the construction kit, I'm sure this would be a mod that will come out very quickly.
Jared2500
This is an awesome idea, but if you were to add 50's music to these stations there would be copyright issues :(
WrathOfDeadguy
...only if the music came with the download. The existing radio stations just play preexisting audio files on a loop (altered by trigger events), so it *should* be possible to have a user track player that just loops whatever music you dump in the appropriate subfolder (like the user track radio stations in the PC versions of the GTA titles). No copyright issue with that; somebody just has to figure out how to add the thing to the game and make it work. After that, it's up to whoever downloads the mod to find their own Sinatra (or whatever else makes your root beer float). I have a decent sized collection of oldies that I'd love to stick in the game- enough for two stations' worth. You can bet your buns that I'll be first in line when someone makes this mod; I love listening to music while roaming around but poor Three-Dog just hasn't got much of a selection (hard to blame the guy, what with most of the music ever made having vanished in a nuclear war and all) and Eden's DJ isn't the variety type. AnonymousThirdParty
Way ahead of ya, already thought of it soon as I started listening to galaxy radio. We just need a loop that goes for 20 minutes +
MechanicalPirate
Maybe a dedicated voice actor could record some talking, and we could add it in those tracks. Would make it into a real radio station. :)
mikekearn
Something else to consider for this is the fact that a really popular thing with some bands (especially indie ones) is to release music copyright free or under a Creative Commons license. It would depend on the license used, but anything that allows for free derivative works would be perfectly legal to include in the download. Another method, if there weren't quite enough free things appropriate for a certain radio station, and you still wanted to have a DJ, would be to list what songs you would play, and leave it up to the user to obtain them. Having your DJ announce that "Band X's great single YYY coming at you next!" would be a really short clip to include, and if the person has song YYY labeled YYY.mp3, then it might be playable just like that. More complex? Sure, but it is a way around the copyright issues.
WrathOfDeadguy
...or you could always just name the station "Galaxy Music Radio" and pretend that Three-Dog runs it out of the same studio, minus the chatter between songs. :P
