HGEC Face texture issue

Hi everyone,

I have recently reinstalled oblivion and tought this time could be the right opportunity to mod it out properly.

But I run in an issue, supposedly due to HGEC, which I use along a few other mods (list below). So I came here to ask for help.

Things are simple: the face of my female char got covered in a whitening layer, like the head was wearing a nylon sock.

It's not a missing texture, it's right UNDER that layer, that covers all of head - except for ears - down to the neck with a very very evident seam with the rest of the body.

I can actually see it at max distance in inventory, and it ruins the appearance of my char, to better which I ultimately installed the mod...

For now I only have:

*HGEC last version (includes Coronera' Skeleton etc)

*Robert Male Body

*Amnes Beautiful Characters

*NoMaaM Animations

I also installed Hi-Rez Textures for HGEC before ABC but those could have been already included in last version of HGEC (instructions weren't so clear) and anyway they got replaced by ABC ones.

Everything is working fine: female body, male body, ABC custom head and textures etc, animations... only problem is that annoying white glove on my char head.

It seems like male chars aren't affected, or not so much, but I just made a test one without toying with sliders as I did for my female char.

I want to make clear again that the face texture isn't missing: it's there, I can see it, with its colourful details, but it's "dressed" with a whitening layer of mistery.

Anyone have ideas? Thanks for anyone listening

Just forgot to say: yes I have OBMM and OBSE. I installed some with that and some with Wrye Bash/Bain, all 3 programs shown no problems.

I have a video card with 1GB VRAM DDR3, and other specifics well above required for vanilla and so few mods.

Thanks for listening.

Unfortunately I canceled the character on which I first observed the effect.

I' ve created a new one to take screens but again if I don't change too much with sliders - ie if I use basically the same face - the effect isn't so evident.

I say this because after the female character that was heavily customized, I created a simple male one just to check Robert Male working, and it showed no problem.

Or it all was just my impression, I noticed it after a night spent on downloading and installing mods.

I will never know until I don't re-create a very complex female character.

By the way for now I've taken screenies of the char I've just created, if this could help, but there is not much to see.

Close frontal look to face, it just seems a simple seam/lightning issue.

Here you may or may not notice something stronger.

Again, I don't know. I remeber it was very worse last time, but considering sleep privation and such I can no more swear it is an actual issue.

Thanks

Did you install the Hi-Rez face textures from Ozmo? Perhaps its a gloss effect which is emitting the white... I think they're located in data\textures\characters\<race>\<race>head_n.dds, but I dunno if simply re running the install for face texture and setting to standard would solve it or not.. sorry couldn't be more helpful!

Thanks you very much for listening, indeed you did helped me a lot confirming there is an actual issue.

Yes I do have installed Ozmo's textures, then ABC. I'm currently awaiting answer from ABC author to know how to do.

It seems like I did a mess, hope to solve it soon.
