Help with a shadow fix?

It seems Skyrim shadows can be a little tricky to nail down, and I'm having an issue myself.

My indoor shadows are looking like this:

I've tried messing around with skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini but only manage to make things worse.

Any help?

Are you talking about the lines on your character?

I would try disabling FXAA, if you use it.

Also, have you taken a look at the Geforce Tweak Guide? Here is the page on shadows that might help.

Other wise maybe post your graphics card info, mods you are using that affect lighting and your character, and the changes you made to your prefs (unless you returned to the defaults), and someone will probably have some more ideas.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Yeah, I'm talking about the weird wavy shadow lines all over the character. They only appear near a bright light source like a fire, everything outdoor, or indoor away from bright lights is fine.

Disabling FXAA didn't help. My graphics card is a Radeon 7970, 3GB VRAM.

Mods I'm using that would affect indoor lighting are Quietcool ENB, and Project Reality - COT. Disabling ENB made no difference as seen here:

I haven't tried disabling PR - COT as the mod is quite popular and I haven't read anyone else reporting the same issue.

Reverting skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini to default made no difference.

That is the worst case of "shadow striping" that I've yet seen. This was an issue quite some time ago with earlier versions of Skyrim. Mods were introduced to specifically address this issue. Breezehome was one of the places this effect was first seen. Then a number of sophisticated lighting mods were introduced, and they seemed to address most problems. Then, unfortunately, one of the recent patches (1.6 or 1.7) seemed to change something and now I'm seeing this same phenomenon, except to a much less noticeable degree, and primarily on outdoor surfaces, such as snow. It's more appropriately identified as a "Moire pattern". That is a really egregious example of it. You best bet is to selectively disable any mods that affect lighting/shadows. I see that you have tried it without the ENB. I would try disabling CoT and anything else that changes lighting, at least to eliminate them as the cause, or at least part of the cause. Also, read what this mod says about shadow settings: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7638 . It's possible that you may be able to make an .ini change that will at least reduce the Moire pattern.
