akbaroth
I've done several searches for shadow-related bugs, although i've found TONS of results for many kinds of bugs none are anything like mine. this is one of two problems that update 1.4 introduced for me, and before anyone asks, yes i have done the basics: turn off every mod then turn them back on one at a time (the bug occurs without any mods), re-install (didn't help at all). my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M. i've uploaded several screenshots here to help explain it, but i think a video might do it more justice (i've never made a video from a game before so i wouldn't know where to start). i play in third person most of the time and the bug is totally different in first person. 1st i don't think i need to say what is wrong here.2nd you may notice the left side of the screen... where my shadow is. this causes a lot of places to become much darker than they should be (comparison) the shadows also move along the ground whenever the camera moves, if i start moving and the camera follows the shadows move with me, following me. if i turn the camera the shadows ripple a little they stay in roughly the same spot (here, here, here, and here) I only switch to first-person when stealth or precision are needed. when i do things start out normal, but whenever the camera moves closer to an object this happens. i'm at a loss as to how to fix this at this point, i've checked guide after guide on how to fix shadow bugs but i can't find anything even related to this. --- on a side note patch 1.4 has made the underwater shader totally opaque. as soon as the camera dips below the water the screen turns solid blue, solid green, or in some waters solid brown or gray. i'm not too fussed about this as the console command TCL can at least make water visable. not the best fix, but i haven't found anything better yet. here we can see the picturesque Lake Honrich in all it's glory! Deleted3507349User
Green Water Fix I have the same problem with shadows, but I have ATI cards. There is a D3Dgen fix on the Fallout Nexus for ATI users, but I don't know if one exists for nVidia. You might try googling around for it.
