Sodman74
I'm having problems installing fallout 3. I downloaded it from steam on Friday, then again on friday night, and another time today, just to be sure it wasn't a download issue... When I click "install" on the screen which comes up after double-clicking on the game from inside steam, it tells me that it cannot install the game because it could not locate the setup.exe file, and tells me to search my DVD for it. I downloaded it through steam, so I don't have a DVD, but I looked in the downloaded files and that setup file was also absent. I tried re-downloading the entire game twice, but I keep getting the same error. I tried running the verification software that steam provides also, but it came back with no errors. I'm trying to run this on windows vista, as the admin. Sodman74
Thanks, that's the thread I tried to post in yesterday, but still havn't been approved for posting there. I have since solved the problem. For some reason I can't run steam as the admin by right clicking on it, or by going to advanced properties, however if I open it through the run command, it is forced to run as admin, and then I get the "play" button instead of the "install" button, and it works now!
