boogiebot257
Hello. I recently got an AMD Radeon HD 6670 card, hoping it would boost Skyrim's performance on my computer. And while this is true, the increase is barely anything. Before, on the overworld, I got an average of 6-10 FPS, now I get an average of 15-23. I'm on high setttings, in-game settings are boosted all the way(though there's little difference between the max and default). I realize Skyrim is a very poorly optimized PC game, but are there any mods or fixes or anything you guys can direct me to fix this?
Georgiegril
I don' have Radeon, but According to Tom's hardware, you should be getting 60+ fps running skyrim on medium settings. I have a much older :facepalm:NVidia card and I am doing better than your current performance. I suspect that something is up with either your graphics settings or mods. Did you update to the latest drivers? The drivers that come with a card are usually pretty outdated. Are you using the native resolution for your monitor? Anything else might contribute to the problem.Have you tried turning off AO and FXAA? If all of these are not helping, could you post your computer specs, game settings, and mods? David Brasher
Skyrim can bring any computer to its knees if you install enough graphics mods and turn your graphics settings high enough. I think you need to do testing where you remove a bunch of graphics mods and lower your settings way down until your game performs great, then you can start adding things back in in different combinations and turning up settings. After trying various things, you will be able to figure out how much of which stuff you can add and still have acceptable performance.
