Deleted4472034User
I`ve made a new mod for the CBBE-Bodyslide body, five camo outfits, and I have upload it here:https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41302The problem is that three people reported "pink gun and grenades", like that is missing textures. I`ve checked my mod and everything is ok. Anybody knows what could be wrong? :confused:I am new to the forum, I hope I wrote everything corectly.
G4M3W1NN3R
You Don't need to create any Additional folders when packing your rar files, especially not folders named Data. so essentially the texture files for your mod, would not be in the textures folder inside fallout 4 data folder. it would be in your data folder, which is inside the fallout 4 data folder, if that makes sense. i recommend just adding all files directly into a rar file, instead of creating an additional folder and placing them into that folder, then adding it to a rar file. Mod managers (That Do Not use Virtual Drives) by Default install everything into Fallout 4 Data Folder. (basically they will open the rar file and immediately copy everything to the fallout 4 data folder, any additional folders created in the Rar File, will not be sorted, only the primary files and folders will be sorted, that means only the very first files and folders that can be seen immediately upon opening a rar file, in this case the Primary File/Folder is your Data Folder, which will not be sorted because no other folder inside the Data Folder is called that.) <-- the only exception is if your mod includes a FOMOD you would have to reassign your armor addons, to point to the included Data folder that you put your files into. so that it works for other users. the reason why your not having issues is because in outfit studio you would have put the files into the correct place Example: Biped Model = Armor\camouflage\camouflage1\brownCamoBikini.nif which translates to: Fallout4\Data\Armor\camouflage\camouflage1\brownCamoBikini.nif <-- (the fallout 4 data folder does not show in the adress because, the fallout 4 data folder is ovbiously where all files are located) however because you included a Data Folder, this is what should be written in your armor addon for the bikini for example \Data\Armor\camouflage\camouflage1\brownCamoBikini.nif which would then be: Fallout4\Data\Data\Armor\camouflage\camouflage1\brownCamoBikini.nif Note: the only people that will have this issue will be people using mod managers. Delete the Data Folder, and then add all files and folders directly into a Rar File, then Re-Upload and the problem should be solved  So basically the ESP, Texture Folder, Mesh Folder, Materials Folder and Tools Folder Should be the Very First thing you see when opening your Rar File. I have used this guide: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27532/Please look at it. Is the guide wrong, or I didn`t reed it corectly?
G4M3W1NN3R
that tutorial is for the old version of skyrim (A.k.a Oldrim or Skyrim LE), the tutorial was made in 2012, so likewise would be aimed at a very old version of Nexus Mod Manager as well. as programs evolve so does their methods, Requirements and the way they are programmed, which means what worked before, does not necessarily mean it will work again, (this applies to both programs and games, as games are classed as programs). anyway fallout 4 does not work the same way as Skyrim LE, Neither does Skyrim SE for that matter. Old tutorials very rarely apply to newer content (whether that be newer versions of the same programs or newer version of the same game). a Perfect example of this: LOOT (Load order optimization tool) worked fairly well with Oldrim, yet does not work properly with Skyrim SE or Fallout 4. it does not sort load order properly, where as with Oldrim it was practically essential for getting a good load order. for fallout 4 and Skyrim Se it is now only used for checking for issues. not for its primary job of sorting the load order. i have made quite a few mods in the past for both games that included multiple folders, but never placed in any additional folders, and have uploaded them to this site (under different user names), and never had a single issue reported with any of my mods, using my method. we are talking mods that had over 10k (Unqiue) downloads (thats 10 thousand individual people), not a single bug, or post ever mentioned any issue. 1 of the mods was commonwealth shorts modular, where i made deserter X mod fully modular, which of course included my own bodyslide files, which was needed to make it modular so all that was in the main rar file. was the ESP file and a Tools folder (in the same place). Nexus mod manager knew exactly where to place these, as they were not placed in an additional folder. tools folder is obviously for bodyslide, and as such was placed correctly (tools folder merges with the tools folder already in the data folder), and the esp will go straight to where the other ESP files are. however i have had other mods not working properly, because the author placed the mods contents into an additional folder, such as the Typical data folder. trust me i know what i am talking about through a lot of experience. with both mod creation and uploading them, through 7 years. Nexus Mod Manager copies everything from the rar file directly into Fallout 4's Data Folder (and any folder that exists in the rar, gets merged into the their respective folders that already exist in the data folder, however fallout 4's own data folder cannot be changed by a mod, and thus including a data folder in your own rar file, will not merge with fallout 4's data folder, it will be added into the data folder), that is why creating a Data folder for your mod and then placing them into said data folder and packing it, does not work properly, becuase the data folder is added into Fallout 4's data folder. thus causing issues, because your files must include the address for each file that now exists in yet another Data folder, so, for this to work, you would have re-assign all armor addons and weapons, to their new location (file address). as i mentioned in my previous post. or the easy and correct way to do it, is to simply delete the data folder, and place your esp as well as your folders directly into the rar file, so when you open the rar file, you immediately see the ESP file and your textures, mesh, materials and tools folders. Deleted4472034User
yea, because that tutorial is for skyrim (but even then adding additional folders was not nessarary). however fallout 4 does not have the same requirement, and is very different, just to even enable modding for fallout 4 requires extra steps, that was not needed in skyrim. i have made quite a few mods in the past for both games that included multiple folders, but never placed in any additional folders, and have uploaded them to this site, and never had a single issue reported with any of my mods, using my method. we are talking mods that had over 10k downloads and 200 endorsements, not a single bug, or post ever mentioned any issue. 1 of the mods was commonwealth shorts modular, where i made deserter X mod fully modular, which of course included bodyslide files, so all that was in the main rar file. was the ESP file and a Tools folder. Nexus mod manager knew exactly where to place these, as they were not placed in an additional folder. tools folder is ovbiously for bodyslide, and as such was placed correctly, and the esp will go straight to where the other ESP files are. i have had issues in the past with mods being placed in addiotinal folders, that are completely unnessarary trust me i know what i am talking about through a lot of experience. with both mod creation and uploading them, through 7 years.Thank you again for your time
