Friedchiken77
I realize the answer to this question must be out there somewhere, but I have been looking for some time and couldn't find a clear answer. All the tutorials I've found are for weapons or armor and use existing models and I'm planning to do something closer to adding landscape. I want to import a model I made in 3ds max into Skyrim. I brought it into Nifscope, but at the moment I don't even care if it has textures. Mostly, I just want to get the model into the game so I can use the Creation Kit to see how close the scaling is before I move to far along with the project. I think the biggest thing I've been having troubled grasping is getting a model into the Creation Kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated :). ghosu
Do it the same way as with weapons...but instead of an original weapon's nif use something similar like a static world object. Something with similar size since you can use its collision object...otherwise you have to create a new one, never did that but i guess there should be tutorials around. The most important things are a NiTriShape and BSLightningShaderProperties (or something compareable) for the textures... import of both is shown in every common weapon tutorial. I imported this drill here using a Falmer tent, replaced the NiTriShape, changed texture paths and made it standalone: http://666kb.com/i/c7nyabtop8hkn6n8a.jpg Edited October 10, 2012 by ghosu
