Dan3345
Long story short, I am lvl 29, playing as a redguard and dual wielding dragon bone swords (from Tendo's skyrim redone). Playing on master difficulty some enemies give me trouble like draugr deathlords but only for a moment or when I am being ganged up on. I have invested most of my perks thus far into dual wielding (something I have never done) and its a bit insane how quickly I kill things. This normal? I haven't played skyrim without skyrim redone in a long time and this is my first DW warrior class so I am not sure what to think. To be honest though I am having fun while being disappointed at the same time. I am also using that mod that makes it so you can parry with one hand while DW and only use left click to randomly swing. I like this mod because when I don't have it and I DW swinging feels tedious to me.
JanusForbeare
Dual wielding is pretty overpowered in terms of damage output, though this is offset somewhat by the inability to block. This is why I object, in principle, to the "block while dual wielding" mods that so many people enjoy. Of course, I'm not about to tell anybody else how to mod their game, but I don't like or use those kinds of mods. You could, of course, modify the combat difficulty in general, but that often breaks immersion by making naked Bosmer able to endure 20+ hits from ebony longswords. It's certainly not easy to find a happy medium. Edited October 10, 2012 by JanusForbeare

The mod I am using was actually recommended by Tendo (its on his recommended mod list), he recommends it because apparently without it DW is not even feasible in skyre. To be honest though the block is next to useless and I find myself more often then not simply mashing the attack button and literally trying to sidestep all attacks. This works for a bit especially in open areas. In dungeons it can get tricky. Edited October 10, 2012 by Dan3345

It all depends on what you use....I don't feel it's OP, though I don't have a 'parry' mod either....plus I use a couple of modded Swords not much longer than ebony daggers (always thought the vanilla short swords looked too long and clunky for DW...doesn't look right)....so gotta get in closer with the shorter swords.....and either use a pair of them or one of them and a dagger.....It's not OP. Dudeman325
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I haven't noticed much of an increase in damage potential when I dual wield. You can still only swing one weapon at a time (with the exception of one standing power attack AFAIK). The only reason I can see to dual wield is to take advantage of the perk that increases weapon speed while dual wielding.

But I am actually beginning to rescind my OP statements as after getting my butt kicked multiple times in a row on companion quests showed to me I have weaknesses. Block is totally useless (and rightfully so), and if I don't have a companion to take some agro and the mobs focus on me its pretty tough.
