raid777
I have multiple large mods such as legend of the dragonborn, maids 2, relics of hyrule, qaxe questorium, etc, and I am planning on doing a long-term game where I eventually complete most, if not all, of the vanilla quests and the quests inside of those mods. Because it is going to be a long term game, I think I would need a small initial save file size and I am wondering what I should be aiming for. Right now, I am at around 12,300 to 12,500kb and with just the big mods added and not the smaller mods, the save file size is around 11,300kb. Is this good enough for a long term game or will I run into trouble later into the save?
Shadeybladey
You don't say which version of the game or how many hours old the save is, but why would you run into trouble? Massive save bloat is an indication of scripting errors and so on. If the mods are well made, the file size will increase over time as more and more game events are baked into the save, but you shouldn't get runaway save bloat. You can usually tell if there's a problem, as saves tend to get to many, many MB quite quickly. Those files are pretty large for a starting game, 11.3 to 12.5 MB, but then you have a lot of big mods with quests and scripts etc. I shouldn't think the 1.2 MB should make that much difference. My starting saves were more like 1 MB and 6 or 7 MB after many hours, but I used much simpler mods. So I'd keep an eye on it and if you have 25, 45 MB saves within a few hours, something is very probably wrong. If you go from 12 to 70 MB after 500 hours, maybe a 6-fold save file increase is normal? I'd also ensure everything is compatible and updated, and check the mod pages for complaints of bloat and scripting errors etc. Maybe someone else has better ideas? Good Luck! :D
