MrCooper2006
Just looking at the mod forum, theres lots of requests for "remove Lvl 20 Cap" and "contine after end" Im currently Level 14 and about halfway (?) through completing the game. Is this true? Can you not go past Level 20? I was hoping to max out every skill. And theres no continuing after the end? Then whats the point in levelling at all? Or even doing all the side quests? They had this in Mass Effect and i H A T E D it with a passion, I put most of the side quests on the backburner so I could come back afterwards and do them. But if the end is the end, whats the point in them being there?? I was hoping to prowl the wastes as a maxed out beast after doing the MQ. Oh yeah another questions.... Do the enemies not respawn, at all? Cos I killed many supermutants in downtown about a week ago (Fallout time) and they are still dead.... blood and guts strewn across the road and all. my brother says they dont respawn at all. mikekearn
I haven't finished the game yet, so I can't say from my own experience that the game ends, but I have read that yes, the game ends once you finish the main quest. So I've completely avoided doing so until I've explored a lot more of the world. You can just reload a save and not finish it, though, and come back after you are done with everything, I suppose. At least until a "continue after end" mod comes out. As for the level thing, I don't like the idea of a level cap remover. The whole point of it is to force you to make tough decisions. You aren't supposed to be a demigod among the pitiful people of Earth, but just another survivor trying not to die. You can get very strong, but only to a point. However, it is possible to max out your skills through careful planning and leveling. Check out this page for info. For the last point, enemies do respawn. I don't know how long it takes, or what the trigger is, but I killed all the raiders around Springvale School, and when I came back a while later, they were back. In Oblivion, it took 72 game hours for a cell you were not in to reset, so you could try that.

MrCooper2006
Yeah ive waited about a week now I think, and they are still there. Although i NEVER sleep, its too hard somtimes to trek it back, by the time you find a bed its daylight again anyway. I think sleeping just improves your XP farming tho... if youre tired you get less per kill.. I can live with that.
WrathOfDeadguy
I can't imagine why I'd want to max out every skill; in the end every character would turn out the same but for HP and carry weight, and that removes a lot of the replayability IMHO. 20 is a good cap- perhaps it should just be a bit harder to reach (i.e. less XP per kill or more XP required for level-up). Vompattti
Hey, I was wondering, whether it does any good to get a skill past 100.. My skill with Repair is 100, and I just realised that once I find the Bobblehead, it'll be 110.. The same with Small Guns, I've got that capped, and my Ranger Armor (+10 Small Guns) doesn't seem to do any difference anymore... So maybe I should level the skills to max. 80 and use the points elsewhere :)
WoogieMonster
From what I can tell, they do not buff as they do in Oblivion, they actually cap at 100. When you get the booblehead, it will still just be 100. That could be why your armor no longer shows its effects.
JmX2008
i can't wait for a proper leveling mod aka Fallout 1&2, or something similar - what is the point have it limited to 20 levels... a good thing would be also reducing number of points earned for every level up. probably half of points would be good so instead of 20 points you will only earn 10. WrathOfDeadguy
It is a shame that buffs can't "overlevel" skills and stats- they should just be base values modified by chems, damage, radiation, armor, etc.
JmX2008
yeah, something like in Oblivion where you could have 150points as max. btw i have a bad feeling they will not release SDK before datadisk or theirplanned paid additions... i think they will try to earn more money that way so modder scene will not "ruin" it by releasing mods and new stuff for free... i hope it wouldnt be that way...
