TheRealLordSanta
Now, I cannot brag that I've been playing non-stop since release, on the contrary... I booted up FO3, expecting Oblivion with Guns, but this was not the case It's... I don't know I came out of the vault and started exploring, then I ran into a bunch of Super Mutants and killed them (with the gun I had from scratch), using the VATS system then I continued my adventure and ran into a Super Mutant Brute with a Minigun, well... I turn on my VATS and "pop, pop, pop" he's dead and I have a Minigun (what?) continuing I find some BOS members fighting, one of them dies and suddenly I have a power armor (what?) this would not have been considered a problem, if I'd been playing for 12+ hours, but I was level 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! and got all this handed to me this was on the day of release and I have not touched it since someone mod this game! NOW!
MrCooper2006
You have a point, and i feel the same way. But since its so "short" in respect to Oblivion, any average gamer would miss out on 90% of the things in the game, but still get to Lvl 20 before finishing main quest. So i guess in a way they have to put these things infront of you, seeing a BOS guy with power armour i think is mainly chance aswell as to when /where they spawn. But that power armor will be useless after a few bullets as the condition wears down quickly, then if your level 2 you wont be able to repair it.... so its not too game breaking really. Plus regarding VATS, if you didnt use it in the first place, you wouldnt have killed that Mutant. Youd be dead. (I play on very hard as anything else is a walkover) I only use VATS occasioanly, someimtes cos it just looks cool to blast someone apart in slo-mo, and others cos the game can be SO hard without it, especially facing multiple foes at large distances. when your armed with a 10mm pistol with the trigger hanging off. WoogieMonster
Maybe it would be more challenging if you set the difficulty above Very Easy and stop using the cheat that lets you wear power armor without being trained.
jgarling
The original poster doesn't get the novelty of the game... In most games you don't get the big guns until later on or the great armor until the end of the game. In FO3 you get access to the best guns fairly early, but often they are in poor condition and you need to only use them sparingly. For Instance, I built my guy to be a sniper and guess what I had a sniper rifle at level 2 and I loved it to death. Problem was, that was the only one I found and I only could find about 10 rounds for it. Now I am level 14 and I am able to use it much more often now. This game doesn't wait to let you use the great guns, it just limits your use of them... it allows you to see what is out there and make decisions on your character before you get really high in levels and its too late to change. Anyway, play through the game and you should see how great this system really is. Also, how and the hell did you get to wear power armor at level 2? I think you are a liar.... or you mean you just picked it up. Also, turn up the difficulty - pansy
MrCooper2006
Oh yeah forgot you need to be trained for that armour. Good point. "Also, turn up the difficulty - pansy" lol funny. Can someone tell me how to quote? I keep having to "do this"

Seviche
Actually, it's the playing for 12 hours and only being level 2 that got me. Especially after killing a few Super Mutants and whatnot.
