Roflcore
Your stats have very little effect on the game. I play with perception 1 and small guns 35 and I still snipe the enemy without any problems.

In Fallout 2 I never felt comfortable spending my AP on head shots given the hit percentage. Hardly ever, especially after lv 10 was there a reason to not go for the head. jgarling
Well I am sure that my 7 perception, sniper perk, and small guns 100 helps me more than your stats. Especially when I have only a 30 sneak and get sneak crits constantly.

Circuitous
How the hell are people seeing Mutants this early? I did see some BoS outcasts, but trying to take them on ended with me in several pieces. Raiders were there as well, but not much of an issue so long as I was prepared. I get the impression people are either sprinting to the Downtown D.C. area too early (thus allowing more Mutie encounters), are playing at too low a difficulty level, are lying, or all three. Upping the scaling on "major" enemies (BoS, Muties, etc.) isn't a bad idea, regardless. I still walk all over Muties at this point - but given the fact that they're a major enemy in the Downtown area and often end up inhabiting some of the better dungeons/tunnels/whatever that may end up making most of the rest of the game unplayable. Pretty much every enemy seems to become cannon fodder as it is now.
vash1985
muties litter the wastes too. there is a group of them in a church not far from 101. i recall there is a random truck out in the middle of nowhere (neer the church) with muties. OP never said anything about actually wearing the armor.......

Especially when I have only a 30 sneak and get sneak crits constantly. Was so hard to understand about "very little"? Go try it out. Lower your perception and skill and you will have no problems. Oh yes, vats% is lowered by 10% or so, but its still no problem at all. Or don't test it and imagine beeing a sniper, if that makes you happy, go for it. /e oh and everybody can kill mutants right from the start upon leaving the vault. just find some, make them see you, then hide behind some cover and wait till they come close (they always will.). once they are two steps away, leave cover, wait till they want to fire, activate vats and give em several headshots. in vatsmode you will only recieve 10% of the damage. that combined with your high hp you will have no problems taking this kind of damage. on the other side you yourself deal massiv damage due to the short distance and critical hits to the head. So its not really that hard to kill a supermutant right from the start. if you are having problems you are doing it wrong or this is your first egoshooter at all. Denamic
Perception doesn't do squat in actual combat except show you in what general direction the enemies you can't see are.But it help immensely later on, given the fact you need it to get the sniper and better criticals perks.Seriously, unless you aren't playing on very hard mode, you don't want to enter combat later on without those perks. And finesse, of course, but perception isn't a requirement for that one. And about the minigun and power armour thing. What good are miniguns when you're level 2 anyway? Or under level 10 for that matter? They're at like 10% condition, so they'll be less accurate, take longer to reload, be less powerful, sell for less than a carton of cigarettes, and you won't have nearly enough ammo to actually use it. They're effectively useless early on.And power armour? Weighs more than a person, sells for spit and you can't use it until you're trained. Also useless early on. Well, for everything but turning them in for stuff to the outcasts. Although, I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with there being so many brotherhood soldiers everywhere, and them being so.. weak. Seriously, there's raiders that's tougher then your average power armour wearing brotherhood dude. They're demystified somehow. It was the same with the super mutants at first, but I got around to rationalize it somewhat. It's an outbreak, after all, so I can deal with that. I hate these brotherhood pansies. They aren't supposed to be out 'fighting the good fight'. They're supposed to ignore everyone but those that oppose them and collect stuff as if they had OCD.
