EldritchBloke
After encountering the pink screen of death instead of the menu, I realised that my Archive invalidation was not working. This was because 'SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt' was changed to 'SInvalidationFile='. A troubleshooting mod told me this, so imagine my surprise when I opened up the 'Fallout.ini' file in 'My Games/FalloutNV', only to find thatàit was completely empty. So, I copied the content from 'Fallout_default.ini' located in my 'Steam/steamapps/common/FalloutNewVegas' folder. Archive invalidation worked, I booted up the game, and was met with the same pink screen as before. Only then did I learn that whenever steam launches the game, it generates an entirely new 'Fallout.ini' file, erasing the content I had pasted in, and becoming blank once again. Could anybody explain to me why this is happening and help me find out how to get the game to start generating proper .ini files? I've been troubleshooting this game for nearly 3 days now and its driving me quite insane. Edited October 6, 2019 by EldritchBloke

EldritchBloke
Its installed in Program Files (x86). I've heard how having it installed there is a bad idea because it can cause permission issues. The only thing is I was able to play it perfectly modded while it was installed there. I've only ran into this problem of the .ini being wiped after I downgraded to a less demanding texture pack because the larger one was raping my pc. But your problem will fall on deaf ears because we all know that is a bad place to install anything due to how windows currently is going to treat your programs. No body is / will waste their time with a windows bug we all know about.
