Your favourite weapon in Fallout 3?

Oh yeah, scrap the Fat Man... i found this last night

 

My new favourite weapon has to be "Power Fist" ... its so great, nothing like smashing the helmet straight off a Raider with a huge metal fist.

 

You can even kill Supermutants with it on Very Hard, just keep pummelling their heads, it gets the adrenaline going too.

Hm... I haven't been able to play Fallout that much, but so far, I like the combat shotgun best. Good shooting frequency and damage (but terribly ineffective at long range), now all I need is ammo... ._.

 

what good is a nuke if it cant even shatter a bottle of beer...

 

So true... but I still like messing around with it. After all, the Fatman IS a portable nuke-launcher. :3

Chinese assault and 44 mag with scope.Hunting and sniper for stealthier kills.I guess the Chinese assault rifle is my favorite.

I must add the Nuka-Grenade to the list, having found the schematics. I've been converting every Quantum I see into these things, then I save them until I get in a tight spot and need things dead now. Much lighter to carry around 10 or so Nuka-Grenades than a Fat Man, and- let's face it- nothing besides a Behemoth is gonna live through two of them, and only Deathclaws and Super Mutant Masters have a real chance of living through the first one and still being a threat. Good 'splodey fun for when accuracy counts less than kaboom.

I'm loving the Silenced 10mm Pistol. Great for creeping through the dank n' dark places and shooting ghouls and raiders in the head.

 

Oddly enough, sometimes it seems that the silencer part actually works and the raiders don't see me. It's 50/50 sometimes. Not quite sure how to predict when it will be heard or reveal my presence. Still, it makes small caliber sniping a tense crap shoot.

 

The hunting rifle is a close second, especially on Super Mutants. Seems to work better than the sniper rifle for one-shot kills. :blink:

 

I wonder if there are better weapons for certain classes of enemies. Humans are usually toast to the 10mm Silenced and the Sniper Rifle, but Super Mutants get easily hosed by the Hunting Rifle and Combat Shotgun.

 

Robots... well, no energy weapon skill (next character!) so I assume they work well but I have no idea. Usually I let the big roller ones chase me while I drop Frag Mines like a screaming girl. I think it's funny. Everything else gets the Chinese Assault Rifle. :mellow:

Favorite weapon to have fun with? Definitely the Nuka Grenade. Extremely satisfying to decimate large groups of enemies with a single go. Pretty limited in ammo, though.

 

Most often used weapon is probably the hunting rifle. Great balance of damage and long range accuracy for me. Second most used is definitely the combat shotgun, for when I need to get up close and personal.

I'm a fan of the hunting rifle, balanced and bundles of ammo, but I can't get enough of the bottlecap miens. Any time an enemy is on the chase its always super effective, and entertaining

I love the Lincoln's Repeater. Almost like a hunting rifle, only far more powerful. A bit rarer ammo though. I use it mainly to shoot far away targets. Close up I like the Assault rifle, and the Railway rifle makes killing mid-range targets standing near a wall way more fun.

 

Harkness' plasma rifle is also very good. The fat man is for behemoths.. mostly..

Lincoln's Repeater is just h4x. Personal opinion that is.

 

Hunting Rifle is great, and I mean it defined the fallout 3 experience for me but...

Deathclaw GAUNTLET. Its SICK. I wish the power attack looked better in first person but its just plain sick anyway.
