Random, frustrating CTD's, need serious help please.

Hello, Ill get right to the point. I have been getting CTD's like crazy. Ill explain in some very short story.

 

Had a 140+ playthrough still going strong, with no problems whatsoever...then upon returning to Skyrim after about 2 months, I boot it up, don't add or remove any mods, and start getting random CTD's. Went through every forum and mod page upon the subject, kept logs and the sort, and after several CTD's, I came upon the conclusion I was getting them when I shouted, an enemy shouted, or a dragon spoke in it's language. Anyways, upon finding that there had been problems with Sounds of Skyrim I wasn't aware about, I did a proper uninstallation to it, yet still had CTD's and the sort. At this point, I was ripping my hair out, so I just completely deleted EVERY MOD FILE, AND EVERY SKYRIM FILE, and did a fresh installation, including all my mods and plugins. I did a quick run through with BOSS, and received no warnings. Got to about level 8 (had to start a new game, whatever) and I obtained my first shout, I shouted, and received an instant CTD, no error or anything. Now I'm sitting here, lost...I've asked several people, started a topic before my new game, and scoured across the web to find an answer. Please...can someone please help me.

Well the first thing I would do is address the warnings-- choose just one cloaks, etc. Did BOSS place all your map markers at the bottom or are they unsorted mods? This may not be related to your immediate issue, but it may solve future problems.

This part of your papyrus seems to relate to your shout issues.

I know people have sometimes had issues with Midas, have you tried uninstalling that completely, according to the mod author's instructions? Other than that, I would try uninstalling any mod that relates to magic, then any that relate to sound. Sorry nothing else pops out to me.

 

YOu may have to do a clean re-installation, then start new game, add mods back one at a time, run BOSS and play before adding the next. Reinstalling and then adding all the mods just recreates the same environment where the problem existed, especially if you are using old save games.

Ill just restart a whole new, fresh installation and save. The save I was using was a [newer] one from my first installation, after I uninstalled Sounds of Skyrim, etc, I took the save and put it to my new installation, that is probably the problem. I unistalled Midas, with it being the only magic changing, other than Magic duel [didn't think it would affect it, however I deleted it anyways.] Ill keep you posted.

Well i feel the pain, it sucks, it really does. The only good thing i can think of is that there are millions of other games to explore...

And after a month or so you can always install sky<crash>rim again with just a few mods to keep it simple, and start a new character.

Maybe then you have better luck.

No worries, I as doing 5 at a time, and transferred all mods that I had in Workshop, to NMM, so that my mods were through NMM. Doing 5 at a time, I would save, exit, run BOSS, and then do 5 more. With this being said, I haven't had a problem, or crashes so far. So thank you for assisting my troubles. If I do happen to continue having problems, Ill report back here.
