Hey, guys.

Does anyone think it's a good idea to combine these two maps together ?

Round Normal Map:

Detailed Normal Map:

Because i hear it gives a great result to the game when combining them like this:

Oh, and also how to even create a Round Normal Map ?

Thanks.

So you don't know...dude, start with the basics. You want to know if it's "good" to combine stuff that you don't know what it is used for...no good idea to start somewhere in the middle.

Any websites you can recommend ?

All i'm getting is how to make normal maps and applying normal maps to a 3D Model :)

Yes you "can". Whether or not you "should" is a different story.

More detail than you possibly want;

Easy way: overlay mode

Technically correct way: convert to height map, perform addition, and convert back to normal.

I personally use ndo 2 to convert normals to ndo's format and overlay blend from there, which works with their particular type of normal.

About ndo 2: google it. They do "something" to their normals that allows the output to be manipulatable with standard photoshop tools. You'll have to look at their site to see what it exactly does.
