Khet
Not bad work there, Alex. Sadly the shape is off for any of the buildings I'm using right now, but thanks for the offer mate! Update: I've gotten all the major scripting done for the mod. All that's left for me now is to set up the NPCs and dialogue for the main quest and I'm pretty much finished with that so I'd say it's about 80% done. There's only a few minor things I have to do before those though and that's get a few of the interiors done which are used in the main quest. Once that is done I'm going to move on to doing the interior work for the rest of the mod, add a couple side quests and then begin some of the voice acting unless something else comes up that I have to do first. So far there are NO custom meshes or textures in the mod, and I might try to keep it that way until after a beta release and I can gauge the opinions of the community on what they think about it. That... and I'm still not very good at meshes or textures
Khet
Another quick update before heading out: I've completely finished all interiors required for the main quest. Now all that's left is setting up the dialogue and linking all of the quest stages together. After that's done I'm going to add the remaining interiors it's just a matter of adding the rest of the NPCs and doing their dialogue and I believe everything would be set for a playtest by a few people. Can't really think of anything else that would be needed at this point (save for voice acting of course) After I find some folks for a play test and they get back to me with their thoughts then I'll finish it all up with more misc quests, make required changes and touch up a few things here and there. Things have been moving pretty quick so far but it's going to slow down considerably since the dialogue used in Evanore will be 100% custom. NONE of it will be from vanilla Oblivion so there's a lot of things to write up, add to NPCs, you know the drill. I've a very, VERY rough estimate of 1-2 weeks to set up all the dialogue how I want it. Edit: And do folks actually READ these or am I just wasting my time? :D
exanimis
I've been reading each post. I don't however know how to help so I haven't posted anything. I'm just reading with the hope of learning something.
Khet
There's really been no progress since my last post since I ended up buying Fallout 3 the same day. But, now that I've played through the main story arc and done quite a few little side quests I've reached the point where I want to start working on my mod again, so it's back to creating dialogue *shudders* though things will probably slow down quite a bit more because FO3 is still new to me and there's still lots to do. vipresa
But I'm glad you got back to it now  Fallout is yes addicting and we've almost lost half of our people temporary to it, but they're coming back all the time. Anyhow keep it up :thanks:
exanimis
I was going to buy Fallout 3 but since I've bought both Kotn and SI and haven't played either, I figure it would be a waste. I played through Oblivion about five times before downloading the CS. Now all I do is mod, I go into my game long enough to test something and that's it. The only character I still have a save of is only level two. I'm here to mod and I ain't goin nowhere!
Khet
Har. My problem with Oblivion is that I've played through it so many times that I can't even play it anymore without wanting to work on a mod. I'm actually rather happy Bethesda didn't give us a CS on Fallout 3 release or otherwise I'd already be making a mod for THAT game too, and the one I'm working on now is bad enough! Khet
Well, after much trial and error, using different methods and such, I've finally managed to make a working map of Evanore Island. I have yet to port it in game, as this is only the first setup of the map, but for those interested in what it looks like, here it is. Sadly though, I could not get the water to show up so I'm going to have to think of something for that. Also, the map is a bit too 'perfect' for my tastes so I'm gonna mess around with it and try to at least make it look more like it was painting instead of a satellite image! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f80/Bakohryu/EvanoreMap.jpg Oh, and sorry for all the 'shadows' and such where the water was supposed to be. The island went through TONS of changes while working on it and I missed quite a lot, as you can tell. Edit: Yep, not five minutes after the post there's an edit! I have an idea that might work to make it look a bit better and actually show the trees though I'm not sure I want that. I also thought of an idea that MIGHT show the water, but I don't know if it'll work or not. If anything I can try to 'paint' it in as best as I can. Khet
Well, I've redone the map for Evanore and I gotta admit it looks quite a bit better now. The Jpg here HAS been compressed, so it doesn't look as good as the in-game version but it still gives you a pretty good idea. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f80/Bakohryu/EvanoreMap-1.jpg
exanimis
Nice work on the map Khet and I'm glad it's working. I don't have any criticisms of the map but looking at it brings up a question. Wouldn't the boat/Ships dock be in the lagoon on an island that size? The land and trees would shelter a ship from storms. I know what you are thinking and no, I'm not trying to be one of those
