what i could really do with is an alternate launcher or something that will allow me to do all the settings fallout 3 needs without using the normal launcher. Hell i'd be ok with doing whatever it requires manually if there was a guide to do it. Its just bugging me as i dont have another way i can actually play the game. i dont know what else to do really, i dont have a usb external dvd drive to hand (hence using my laptop as the external drive but the securom dosnt see my network drive as being part of my computer

 

That will work? i dodnt think it would (which is why i didnt try it LOL) wouldnt there be some registry issure and such for it meing installed to a different drive letter ect? also its not the second disc that wont install its actually just the launching it for the first time to do whatever it does (i assume detecting graphic cards and such)

 

1. you claim the game is already installed on the PC correct?
2. registry entries are already there.
3. you only need the assets from the second disc.

Retail discs are o for windows 7, with no security but on windows 10 it is impossible to install the second disc.

The second disc write a different launcher that is corrupted with sucure- Rom data.

 

Default disc one is fine, he has the default launcher, the bugs come from the second disc, once you initialize the second disc, the primary launcher gets destroyed.

Some new CD-rom readers will get damaged from the bug on that second disc, But. on windows 7, if you install to an external drive?then things are possible. but the bad data is still installed, and then you need to download secure roms uninstall tools in order to remove that filth from your PC, other wise any cd / dvd you incert will get corrupted or not read at all.

PS: the tools need t ran twice in order to verify the crap is gone.

At that point you can now introduce steams overlay if you wish for better graphics and a NON-steam game.

Suggested you then download the fake patch located on this web site from JustInOther. no need for the esp, just the other primary download.

Now you can use the updater code for the geck Prior to updating the engine.

 

Just remember, once you established the GOTY version old version to update the GECK first then carry on with the 1.7 update, not before.

 

If you don't you will never be able to update to 1.5 geck.

LOL nah, there's no way a retails disc will work on current windows systems.

I shown my own retails as an example so those that think their going to get any help here that "Are Pirates" will just give them selves up.

 

Some time the truth can hurt. facts are facts. There were a couple others that disappeared that were trying to do the same thing here recently.

But anyone that states they can run the second disc on windows 10 will be a pirate.

 

The fact that this persons complains he or she can not access the second disc tells the truth.

Though I am wondering how that dvd read/writer is doing? hehehe, it' turns them to dust. "the hardware that is."

But the facts are there, the problems match retail headaches too. The file size of the launcher from disc one is small, the 2nd dics is huge. DRM loaded.

Well I can give you whatever proof you want, I have fallout 1, 2, tactics, 3, NV (don't have brotherhood of steel for the Xbox though and not for the lack of trying) I in fact have 2 copies of fallout 3 goty retail discs, one as a present from my girlfriend and one from a friend who said, "you like fallout right?" I know that games become harder to play with more modern os's and that copy protection gets outdated and more difficult to work with but securom has to be one of the worst in my memory. I would obviously like to get the gog version but I can't just buy it as I cant afford to and it behoves me to when I have 2 copies of the damn game!

Understood. GOTY Fo3 Is currently on sale right now on GOG. $9.99

I am currently setting up someone else's system and game from that site remotely so I am a bit busy. Retail does not ask for serials, only Steam would ask that but the two versions are not compatible, in other words Steam will not honer what you tired to do.

Steam has no keys for retail. so even if you opened up the case and read the serial number and entered it ,that does nothing.

there never was any request for entering on the retails. Only if you lost a digital download, or some how really messed up your online account.

In today's Modern times, we use Live streaming, there's built in streaming in steam ,GOG Galaxy, xbox, Discord, and a host of others, there's sharing remote, but in technical terms mouse syncing is a big issue "IN Game" that has problems in some systems.

In the latest Operating systems and hardware demands, a lot of software changes and tweaks are required in order to make things match up correctly.

That sort of thing is not allowed here, but would be fascinating to watch or share.

I have seen things to blow one's mind. What I can say without doubt is no two people systems, tastes, Organization are never going to be the same.
