Return to Vault 101?

Or just frequent Megaton, if you left it standing, to use the shop/house, and you will eventualyl pick it up.

Note that at the end of the quest, depending on the chouces you make in it, you may be permanently banished fromt the Vault. (I think, I've only done it once, so I'm not sure if it always ends up like this.), which is an easter egg reference to Fallout 1, where the player was banished from the vault at the end of the game

You get permanently banished from vault 101 no matter what choice you make.

Kinda disappointed me since i went through the trouble of making a "good" character by not killing the overseer at the start and then going back and being "mr. nice guy" and talking it out.

Anyways, you convince the overseer, the second time, that everyone in the vault will eventually die if its not opened to the outside world. He subsequently appoints his daughter (amata i think?) as overseer, and then she orders you to leave to preserve order in the vault.

I was really annoyed at this too. And for your "lifelong friend" Amata to stab you in the back after all you do to save her fathers life, etc. I just put a bullet in everybody's head for thanks. Banishing me....pfff.

Maybe if the tools are ever released someone could change the banishment to it being only for bad karma people.

To be fair, it's not as if she says "GTFO, I never want to see your face again." She does need to restore some semblance of order before opening up to the outside world again. Amata directly says that she will open the door again once that happens, and-let's face it- that girl doesn't know how to lie (and she lets anyone leave who wants to; Butch at least choses to go). This way, the old Overseer (being Amata's father and all) would likely fall into an advisory role which he would have shunned were you still around- which would placate the more reactionary elements on both sides, as they'd see a cooperative leadership working for the betterment of everyone.

On the other hand, more than half the Vault still blames you and your father for screwing the place up, and a good number of them would absolutely refuse to follow Amata's lead if they knew her best friend was around and possibly influencing her decisions.

The banishment makes sense- but it would still be nice if she'd open the place up again after, say, a few weeks to a month of in-game time so that you could go back and visit before turning yourself into a human glowstick.

i sabotaged the place. i was walking around and found 3 Enclave dudes who were talking to Amata. i ended up killing them but Amata ran away. i eventually caught up to her and she says "Stay away from me! It's all your fault!" i found it strange since when she confronted me in the Vault, she was happy and hoped we would meet up again. what a female dog

Kill them all I say... Hypocrite bastards... send an emergency signal, I run there as fast as I can to save the vault, to help my best friend amata, she kicks me out? I saved and killed every last one of them, if you kill Amata, a message comes out says "Vault 101 is in chaos" I dont know what the consequences are for that... I just let them live for the sake of being a good character...
