Tlz
This has been going on ever since launch. I got the game when it came out. It happens with or without mods. The behavior is very specific and it occurs completely randomly across several installs of the game and windows alike. Totally randomly I will go through a loading screen that takes me into the main Whiterun interior. Once this happens the entire game engine slows down. Meaning I get incredibly low frame rates (4-5 fps) and mouse and keyboard lag. In fact, I might hit the jump button 2-3 times and it wont even register. From that point onward it doesn't matter what I do, the game engine stays lagged. If go to the main menu and go back into the game, it still does it. If I go to the map and fast travel somewhere, it still does it. The only time I get zero game lag, is in the escape menu. I shoot right up to 60 fps in that menu. The only solution to this problem that I have found is quitting to the desktop and reloading my game. This however, only works some of the time. The last time I have reloaded my game 6 times and every time it loads I get it. I am very angry right now because I want to play my game. Any and all help at all would be greatly appreciated. Remember, this happened to me on day 1 when I didn't even have any mods installed at all. I had to have reinstalled Skyrim at least 5 times since then and it occurs every time. My computer can more than run this game. Georgiegril
Forgive me but could you clarify this for me? Totally randomly I will go through a loading screen that takes me into the main Whiterun interior. Are you saying that you are playing the game, doing whatever, and then suddenly your game takes you to whiterun? OR that whenever you go to whiterun (you choose to go there) this happens. Tlz
No I could be coming out of a store or the Yarl's palace or whatever into the main Whiterun Interior.
Tlz
This is so damn frustrating. I cant play the game at all. It sits at 10 frames per second or less and the mouse and keyboard lag in unreal. It has to be the game client or a very specific hardware issue. Either way it is rare it seems. ahcomon
You have a gtx 560, i have a gtx460 - i know this problem in this game and in the past i also had this problem with another nvidia card in several games. What i think the problem is: nvidia power save mode: ADAPTIVE mode vs FULL PERFORMANCE mode.See, you go through a loading screen and the oh so intelligent software thinks: wait a moment! i dont need to work my ass off to produce 60+ fps! lets scale down to like euh 50mhz and give 4 or 5 fps for this loading sequence. And then when you need full performance again your card has entered a deep sleep and says: more fps? ah just let me sleep will ya. So make sure your nvidia skyrim profile has the full performance option enabled . Also i still get this problem sometimes and what i do is to alt-tab to windows and then alt-tab back to fix the problem. Alt-tab might be problematic though, you have to have another window open in w7 or open task manager to be that other window. And to get back ingame i have to use alttab to select skyrim and then another alttab to select it again and maximize the game.
